Camden NJ parking
Just an FYI, I would not be surprised if there was no tailgating in Camden this year. if anyone was watching CBS 6 news, a guy was hit two years ago by a drunk driver at the concert, and he is suing the tweeter center, clearchannel, the security and the parking lot owner. I hope that does not change the tailgating......

I saw the same news clipping. If anyone wants to see it, you can go to:
http://kyw.com/local
The clip is in the upper right hand corner, you just have to push play.
I'm now wondering whether this show will go on as planned. It is still not listed on Ticketmaster.com. I called there and one of the operators told me that if if hasn't been listed by now then they are not handling the event. I found that hard to believe and called back an hour later and spoke to a different person. He said that it's still possible that they'd post it tomorrow or Friday.
I'm wondering if this media story about the guy suing has anything to do with the delay. Could it be that this event may be cancelled?!!?? I sincerely hope not. I've gone to all of Jimmy's shows the last 9 years, and with the exception of the terrible sound at the Tweeter 2 years in a row, I've always had a great time. If any of you hear anything more on the Camden show ticket sales, please post the info here!!!

As LIPH has posted many times they usually won't show up on TM until the Thursday before the sale. So let’s wait until tomorrow.
Although I am hoping against hope they don't go on sale Saturday and we won't be caught up in a server meltdown at TM. There are to many shows all going up for sale at 10:00 EST on the 11th.
I guess we will know soon and I don't think the lawsuit will have any affect on whether Jimmy comes to town, maybe it will have an impact on tailgating, but IMHO I don't think it will.
And the drunk driving incident is just another reminder to have a designated driver for the ride home. Like the signs say 'you cannot afford a DUI'. I have a friend and a brother who have gotten them and it was pure hell for both not to mention irresponsible.
Good luck all and be safe!

Not going this year... and no clue on how the lawsuit will affect anything. I had a GREAT time in the parking lot BEFORE the show, a few years ago - my first time there.
But it was the most disgusting, trashed, pathetic parking lot I have ever witnessed at any tailgate I was at AFTER the show.
Thanks again to P@43 for getting me back to my hotel.

It is strange that every show is listed except Camden, but in the past, the tickets have always been listed on TM on the Thursday before the show. If we don't see somthing by tomorrow afternoon, though, I may have to call the Tweeter for some info.
As for the tailgating... i think that the tailgating will be limited in the future (and maybe this year) becuase they are building high priced condos on the waterfront.

Did you see the lots after the Philly shows last year, they may have been worse! It is sad that there seems to be so much waste (including human) left all over the lots in Camden and Philly.SMLCHNG wrote:Not going this year... and no clue on how the lawsuit will affect anything. Maybe they should start checking for tickets prior to letting you into the lot, that could limit some of the needless waste.

No, I'm afraid I wasn't there. I just don't understand why folks can't make a better effort at trying to clean up after themselves.puckhead wrote:Did you see the lots after the Philly shows last year, they may have been worse! Thanks for the post Piratical. That's good information and good to hear. Hopefully we'll hear something on Thursday. This is one parrothead that is always sure to keep a clean tailgate with a designated driver! It sounds like people who've gone to other venues that many people in this area are pigs...it doesn't surprise me...

Yup. It makes you ashamed to be associated with the whole deal. On the bright side, it's Jersey, so the parking lots really didn't look any different than the rest of the state.SMLCHNG wrote: But it was the most disgusting, trashed, pathetic parking lot I have ever witnessed at any tailgate I was at AFTER the show.

I thought the lots in Philly were 100 times better than Camden. We were actually able to find dumpsters to throw our garbage in. I always hold my breath as we are driving out of the lots in Camden scared to death that we will get a flat on the streets just outside from all the broken glass. I am very disappointed that the show has been moved back to Camden this year. Overall a much better experience in Philly.puckhead wrote:Did you see the lots after the Philly shows last year, they may have been worse! A press release went out yesterday, so I think it is still a go. Prices on the Tweeter site list $126 reserved and $36 for the lawn.
Here is the release:
Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band return to the Philadelphia Area concert scene with a performance at the Tweeter Center on Tuesday, August 1. Local Parrotheads won't want to miss their chance to soak in the full Margaritaville experience.
Following up his first number one record, License To Chill, singer/songwriter/author Jimmy Buffett is currently working on a new studio album scheduled for release later this year. In May, a very special live CD/DVD of the Jimmy Buffett/Alan Jackson/George Strait concert will be released. Titled Live At Texas Stadium, the 2004 Dallas show includes individual performances, duets, and songs featuring all three performers.
Also planned for this year is a DVD of Jimmy's celebrated performances at Chicago's Wrigley Field. The two-night sold-out shows made history in the Windy City as Buffett's concerts were the first at the 92 year-old ballpark. In other Buffett firsts, the last few years have brought Jimmy many accolades, including numerous CMA and ACM awards, as well as two Grammy nominations.
Tickets on sale Saturday, March 11th at 10 AM. There is a six ticket limit per customer.

I actually had a big problem with the lots in Philly last year. Once you got into the lot, it was a free-for-all on where you could park and how many lot spaces you could take up. We prepaid for lots m and n, got there around 1 pm and were let into the lots, but it was so chaotic and sofull that we almost did not get parking. Some people had blocked 6-7 spots across with their tailgate. Even after it was full, people in cars kept driving through trying to find spaces. That was rather dangerous, IMHO.LESTERPOLYESTER wrote:I thought the lots in Philly were 100 times better than Camden. We were actually able to find dumpsters to throw our garbage in. At least in Camden they have people waving you right into your spot and not allowing tailgaters to take up too many extra spaces. Iv'e also never had a problem with telling the parking attendants that we have a caravan and to let our 3 or so cars in together so we can park next to each other.
I definitely agree about the danger of driving through the Camden lot after a show. I cringe everytime I hear a bottle pop under someone's tire.

That was the best part of the Philly show, IMO. We got in Lot M early, and grabbed probably 10 spots and really were able to spread out.Blonde Stranger wrote:I actually had a big problem with the lots in Philly last year. Yup we had 3 cars and 6-8 spots. We actually got their around noon for Thursday show and could park wherever we wanted. The Saturday show we didn't get there until about 2:00 and we couldn't get in to lots M & N and had to park in a converted "non-tailgating" lot. They split the lot in half and people who had pre-paid tailgating tix for lots M & N were sent to one end and allowed to tailgate. I thought they handled the situation beautifully. It could have gotten ugly, but they came up with a great solution, IMO.rednekkPH wrote:That was the best part of the Philly show, IMO. The last time it was in Cmaden my brother and I almost got into a fight with the parking attendent because he wouldn't let us park our 3 cars in a row. He made us put 2 nose rear and one on the side.

Yeah, the attendants in Camden are tough. We found if you slip them a few bucks, they tend to loosen up a bit, though.LESTERPOLYESTER wrote:Yup we had 3 cars and 6-8 spots.
