If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle. If the horse has one front leg in the air the person died as a result of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

Famed Racehorse "Man O'War" won ever race he entered except one ( 20 of 21 races) and that one was won by a horse named "Upset" which is where the term pulling an upset comes from.
P.S. This fact was from the HBO special "Assume the position" with Robert Wuhl which I recomend if you get a chance to see it.
