The line in the song IS "IF I had Saxaphones"

No Fingers, no Amy Lee, I like the descripton, a punch to the gut. Can't say it better.

I think this changeup is stage one.

But from watching other acts (Rolling Stones, for example), performers think they can just quit and tour no more. Then after a while of that boring kinda life, they realize they miss the road, the fans, the applause of tens of thousands...... :D

And I'll have a diet coke with lime and some of dat buttered popcorn, followed by some Nonpareils. thankyouverymuch :D
Comin' right up my favorite cit cat!! :D

I wish nothing but the best of luck to Amy wherever life and her horns take her.

I've got a GREAT idea....................Jimmy can REDUE the song "Saxophones". call it "Trumpets" and add it to a new 4 disc cd box set with all his greatest hits.
Or better yet......how about some more "live" cds with the same songs that are on the other 8 or 10 live cds and add the new song "Trumpets"
to it! What a concept huh?

even though "they do turn the band into a unit strong enough and powerful enough to turn goat pi$$ into gasoline", I guess they were just too expensive... after all think of just how much they must be sucking out of Jimmy's $45/pav. seat ticket price increase that he has to let them go and all...

and yes, I am being facetious. I guess the loyalty/family sense that should exist in the band (and yeah, Fingers had a long time in too, but there were side issues so unless TC is hiding a substance-abuse problem; or Amy is pay-advanced to 2010 for wigs and new sax reeds, that point is moot) really does just work from the bottom up. Thanks Jimmy. Either Amy or TC on their worst day with split reeds and a bad case of bronchitis are better players than Lovell at his best.

Always wondered why these changes were made so I went back to find this thread. Still haven't figured out why Amy and TC were let go (my neighbor thinks Jimmy and Amy were involved.....) and now with having seen what has been performed over the last two years, I really haven't seen a huge change....any thoughts, kids?

I've often wondered about this line-up change, and one thing I seemed to recall
is that Jimmy had played the Aspen gig just a a few months prior ("Sing it Mal!!!" ) as Freddy and The Fishsticks, and that slimmed-down band sounded really good.

To me, that was a truly memorable show...
and maybe, not coincedentally, Jimmy was thinking the same thing about that gig.

I don't know.... just a theory

...who knows? maybe the dental rider on the band's health care plan was just killing him, and corporate downsizing had to follow...
