Congrats. I visited Tybee Island a few years ago. Very nice. Not very touristy. The lighthouse was nice. Long climb to top. Give yourself a few minutes to catch your breath before popping the question 
If your looking for entertainment, you can't beat Savannah, just a 20 minute ride inland. Try "The Sunshine House" (I think thats the name) on the island for breakfast. Big local hangout. The beaches are very nice. I actually found dozens of sand dollars there. Hope this helps.
