and while there, amble on over to Ghiardelli Sq. :) Also, if you go to Golden Gate Park, the corner of Haight and Ashbury, and the Grateful Dead House are just below the Panhandle. (Can't remember the exact # or the bus line, but it was 20 years ago the last time I was there...)

On one of my first visits to The City, as an adult, I had to go see Lombard Street

Hey! Is that Herbie, the Love Bug?

Due to overwhelming popularity with tourists, it is now against the law to drive down the street
if you are not a resident. :-? :-? :-?

But, what the hey... I was in a rental car! :D :D :D

You only live once...

Well?

How was your trip?

Where did you go?

What did you see?

Where did you eat?

Most importantly, did you get back yet?

I hope the rain didn't effect your plans too much (only 6 dry days in March and 1 dry day so far in April  )

i'm still here in SF - had a great time yesterday sightseeing - thanks for all the info! the rain didnt slow us down at all.

started off going down to get the picture for doxadive - walked around haight/ashbury and did a little shopping. then got on the bus ride from heck to get to fisherman's warf. got to see the golden gate bridge though on the trip.

got to the warf, had lunch at chic's - GREAT drinks there. saw the seals. walked around the warf, started to really rain, so we ducked into jack's pub. hear a guy slaughter pencil thin mustach... but again, good beer and good friends. left, went and got hot chocolate, then found another little pub to hand out and listen to good music.

tonight i think the reception is at the exploratorium. i need to find the fairmont so i can have drinks in the tonga room....

The Fairmont is on Mason Street between Sacramento and California. In the Nob Hill area. The Tonga Room is in the basement, and bring lots of $$$. Let me know what you think of it.

And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around
You're love's put me at the top of the world

Oh no, she's buying an island
Oh no, she's building a boat
Why does she never stop smiling?
Fun surrounds her like a deep moat

Where does she get all those stories?
How can she tell such a lie?
She's bound to see purgatory
Her views are in short supply

But Peter Pan would understand
Her schemes and dreams and ploys
Best keep an eye on her slight hand
She's such an altered goy

Good God, she's talking with parrots
Painting her dreams in the sand
Piling up beaucoup demerits
Doing it just 'cause she can

By Jove she's having a cocoa
Evading those judgmental eyes
Calmly walking her tight rope
High above all the outcries

But Peter Pan would understand
Her schemes and dreams and ploys
Best keep an eye on her slight hand
She's such an altered goy

The story goes she stumbled at the alter
Now it seems she just blasphemes
And dwells with danger's daughter

Someone call the talking doctor
Somebody get a SWAT team
There she sits getting away with murder
How dare she live out her dreams

But Peter Pan would understand
Her schemes and dreams and ploys
Best keep an eye on her slight hand
She such an altered goy

Oh no, she's sailing today
Oh no, beware Paraguay
Oh no, anchors aweigh
Oh no
