Monica recently stopped at her local dry cleaner to drop off some items that needed laundering. The cleaner was the best in town, albeit a bit old, and more than a bit hard of hearing.

Monica held up one of the blouses she had with her, and stated that the fabric was quite delicate.

Not understanding what his customer just said, the cleaner replied "come again?".

"No" Monica replied, "just mayo this time".

I've had this lyric repeating endlessly in my head since I first saw this thread. . . but I couldn't put a title to it until I heard it today on Radio Margaritaville. Definitely Buffett's most blatant admission of coke use. . .

SECOND WIND
"So won't you kick it in second wind
we got two more hours to go.
Is there anymore hope of scorin' anymore coke,
and we've still got to do another show."

There is also derivitives of the Coke line in the following verses where he changes it up with "blow"

This song has already been cited several times throughout this thread as lyrical evidence of Buffett's familarity with the toot.

Well excuuuuuuuuuussssssseeeee me! I have a life outside of this forum and got excited when I realized what song it was that had been bugging the shite out of me for two weeks and five pages ago when this post first started. I didn't feel the urge to waste my time reading five pages of posts. It was more like personal accomplishment, vindication, or whatever when I finally realized what it was.
Honestly, it doesn't suprise me someone else cited it.

I wasn't trying to say you don't have a life outside of the forum but it usually shows good etiquette to actually take the time to read a thread before jumping in. Same with forums in general. It wasn't my intent at all to upset you but to merely point out this is ground that's been well covered in this thread.

It really was a major relief though to hear the song on Radio Margaritaville though, I just had to tell someone about it. You ever get that aggrevated with a something you KNOW, you know... you just can't place it???

That was the joyous relief I felt when I figured it out. . .

If only I'd fully read the thread

I was listening to the Lake Lanier show. Right after the said line, Jimmy sings, "I don't do that no more", in place of "My fins sink so low".

FWIW

Interesting................I listened to the 9/8/07 Foxboro show today, and he sang.........I gotta go where the wind doesn't blow. [smilie=battingeyes.gif] :-?

Even more interesting.........I remembered this thread

I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere else in this thread because I don't feel like reading through the whole thing, but I am pretty sure that in A Pirate Looks At Fifty he mentions how he used to drop acid in the cemeteries in New Orleans. I saw that some people were wondering if he ever tried LSD, so I thought I would mention that.

Edit: I just saw that HTParrothead said this a few posts up from mine.

i dont know if this has been said before but if you notice he doesnt say "blow" in concert anymore when he sings it he has changed the lyric to "flow". its clearly said on the live albums.

also if you listen to floridays the orginal version to me he clearly says "gospel from the coke" even though the lyric is "coast".i've played it back many times and its a "ke" sound and not a "st" sound.

This is why Jimmy's so good. So many multiple interpretations and the play on words. We can all take it as we wish :D

I thought the phrase was "Six drums of Rocky Road".

Do you prefer blotter or 'shrooms?

If blotter; globes or airplanes or whatever is available?

Meth or cocaine or make your own crank?
