ticket buying question (SCAM OR SCAM)

Post by CrznDnUS1 »

I was called by someone claiming to be a parrothead who say my name on a website like BN, asking me if I needed tickets to Camden. He said he was ten and wanted to let go of some. I told him I needed 5 and he said he will only send them FexEx w/ a Western Union payment recpt. Which will be given to the FedEx drive and I can open the package and examine the tix. Has anyone done this before or is it a scam. I need to know soon since he said the tix are in the mail.

thanks,

WoW, it's funny how the number he gave me to call him back has no one answering it nor an answering machine, ha. Then he gave me a guilt trip about it's gonna cost him twice so if i didn't want the tickets tell him now. After looking at the Wester Union site quickly i decided to call him back and no anwser. Go figure. Thanks everyone for steering me away from this guy.

yes but the funny thing was he didn't know what site, and when pressed he said he googled it.

Another thing how can he have paper tickets already? I dont even think pre-sale tickets were sent out yet.

Well, to be fair, if you've never heard of it before, it sounds good. But if you think about it for a minute, it sounds TOO good to be true.......

There really should be a sticky about these scam idiots in the Ticket Exchange forum. If the scammers see a warning, they'd be less likely to try the scam, plus potential victims would also be warned...

This weekend, A Father brought his son to the ACC tournament. purchased tickets from a scalper for $1500.00

the tickets were fake.

One more thing you have to watch out for. Used tickets. Since many arenas are using bar codes now, the tickets are no longer torn at the gate. you can buy a ticket out in the parking lot that looks good, but when you get to the ticket taker, they can tell that it has already been used, and you are SOL.
