What area are you staying in and what airport are you flying in to?

DO NOT take public trans to Jones Beach. Its not a good way to get there and a real pain on the way out.. if you can, take a car. The theater is actually part of a large state park. there are no trains. You can take the LIRR and then switch to a bus to get to and from the beach. After the concert its not so good. To drive is best. As for tailgating, normally (since its a state park) they are pretty strict about drinking but last time JB played JB there was plenty of tailgating with drinking. You must arrive early.. its a saturday on the beach!!!!
NO ALCOHOL SERVED INSIDE THE VENUE..
Hey that means less trips to the bathroom :)

Not only is it a Saturday in the summer at the beach...it's basically 4th of July weekend!! We got there at 9 a.m. for the last labor day show, & we're probably heading out a little bit earlier this year.

I also was wondering about what time to show up. I am coming in from the Jersey Shore and can't make it by 9am as many suggested. But I do have a prepaid parking pass and didn't want to get shut out like happened in Philly last year, so what is a reasonalable time we can still show up and get a good spot? Seeing how it is LI and a holiday weekend, ugh. I am thinking of leaving around 10 or 11 and getting there in the early afternoon. Am I way off? Please tell me if so.

Well in 2004 it was on Labor Day weekend and it didn't really start getting crowed until after noontime. I got there around then and got a spot pretty close to the bathrooms actually and pretty close to the entrance to the amphitheater.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I just picked up four singles all in section G, looks like our whole group can make it this year.. see you all in the parking lot bright and early.

C,
You can crash at my place if you don't want to have to drive all the way back.
