I don't see how Buffett touring this summer amounts to letting his fans "think he's quitting".
LOL
as I said.I remember back during OPH when it was rumoured he was quitting and if I remember correctly HE started the rumour.(had something to do with the pics on the album cover but without going and digging the LP out of the closet,I can't be certain what exactly it was)
But I'm sure it doesn't hurt his budget for us to always think it's his "last year".

This summer's tour is called "The End of the Road" tour. After hearing about JB's reluctance to want to tour this summer, I find the tour name creates an unquestionable concern. The saying "The end of the road" indicates the completion of a long journey.
Obviously, I want to hear;"Say it ain't so..." BUT, has anyone else had the same ideas or thoughts about this?????????
I had been wondering the same thing, but figured it had already been posted and hadn't had time to do a search.
Thanks.

The simplest thing we can all do is to live it up at every Buffett concert as though it was his last. This ride can't and won't last forever, so let's just enjoy it while we can.
Years from now when the touring stops we'll all be wishing that we could pluck down $126 for a ticket and experience it all one more time.
See you on the Great Woods lawn!

this made me think of all the times I've heard OPH performed live. . I always hold my breath for the line . .
" when I finally disappear . . ". .
cuz many times he will say . . ." but not yet " . .
sure hope he says that this year, too . .

I am not sure what people are saying about his teasing on retiring to drum up more ticket sales. He has talked about it, but who hasn't? During OPH he sings "..finally disappear, BUT NOT YET". and that was taken as he was going to keep going. He is slowing down and touring less, but he is not as young as we wish he was.
Chicago sold out in 2 minutes, most other venues were the same, I dont think he needs help selling tickets.
The tour is not the "End of the Road Tour" but give the newbie from Indiana a break, its freaking cold here still!!!

so until he shaves it, there is a chance of retirement.
Dammit Capt. Flock needs to tell him about the benefits of the clean-shorn scalp...
he'll tour for decades..

Nah...I think he actually planned to take the summer off with his kids, but if his kids are like everyone elses, they probably insisted he go tour and leave them the heck alone!

my first show early 90s I read a newspaper article that quoted
Jimmy as saying he had thought of hanging it up and not touring the next year.. Jane sat him down in Feburary and told him to call his Road Manager..
