Points, What should I do?

Post by The_Polly_Roger »

So I've got a bunch of points because I use my charge card for just about everything.

I got one of the points catalogs in the mail and was looking what I could get for my points. Most of it was crap but a few things stood out.

Fancy Vacuum Cleaner (Dyson, I think)
We do need a new vacuum cleaner.

Luggage (Swiss Army)
We already have some of these pieces but this would complete the set.

Skip Barber Driving School
A whole day of performance driving that includes driving a Dodge Viper SVT around an AutoX track. (I REALLY want to do this. )

Save points for future travel
This is good too but we have an 8 month old so I don't think we'll be flying anywhere soon.

I made the mistake of telling my wife I was planning on doing the driving school and now she thinks I'm wasting the points by spending them on myself when we can use them for other things.

You had me with the driving school until you mentioned wife....with an infant.

Sorry.....have to go practical on this....get the Dyson and vacuum for her. It will be worth more in the long run then the driving school....which is going to cost you.....oh...how it's going to cost you!

if your life takes a turn for the worse----what better way to kill yourself then going 180+ in a nice car and crashing it into the wall. Think of all the coverage on the news you could get.

Ok. The Dyson Vacuum thing is pretty cool, but wifey has a point on using them all on yourself, especially if she helped spend the money.

BUTTTT

The driving thing is super d duperly ultra cool. Would only you get to do it?

I guess I'm a little more 'boring'. ;) The luggage or vacuum is something that is used by BOTH of you.

But the jury is still out on whether or not that Dyson vacuum is really "all that". It would s u c k if John got the vacuum with his points and it didn't s u c k! :o

Wow, they must be hard to please! LOL I love mine (well, as much as one can love a household tool) and so do the other people I know with them.

You know what gets me though? I hate being the practical one here. Folks that know me in real life would be laughing their butts off at that idea!

I hear ya!

Speed Racer vs. Vacuum Cleaner

Should be a no-brainer, but I'm pushin' for the Dyson.

That is sick and wrong!

Soraya...not hard to please, they just didn't seem to work all that well...at least not like they were said to. :-?

Nothing wrong with being practical. I'd go for the luggage over the vacuum tho...cuz then you have an excuse to take a trip! And I know the luggage is great.

But knowing John....the thought of the driving school is killing him!
