Matisyahu

For anyone who is a fan of Reggae, definitely check out Matisyahu. I've been listening to his first CD "Shake Off the Dust...Arise" incessantly, and I can't recommend it highly enough. His new CD "Youth" was also just released.

You can hear samples and get more info at his site:

He's been getting a lot of notice in the music press and is currently touring, so if you're a Reggae fan, check him out!

I'm having a hard time getting into the new one. Live At Stubb's is a tough act to follow.

He's definitely spread like wildfire among my friends. I really like Youth. Definitely want to check out Live at Stubbs too.

My personal favorite is Dispatch the Troops.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I had read about him alot but finaly saw an interview with him on PBS last Wednesday. It was a pretty long segment on the 8 hour documentary "Jewish Americans".
During the interview he didn't seem to be typical of a Hassid, a Reggae star, a rapper, or anything other than a typical young Jewish kid.
Has he been up to anything new? I realize this thread is two years old!
