Now that I have a bank debit card I use this when I'm out shopping. I still write checks when paying bills. I haven't set up my account to have bills automatically taken from my checking account. I should consider doing this. I often find overdue bills which I'm socked with late fees. I do understand that some of my bills could be handled this way but not all.
No quarter given!

Really? I've not run into that. Do you know which places won't accept them?

The only place I still write checks is Costco...I don't want to get another credit card and they don't take Visa.

But Sam's will take a Visa Check Card?!?!?!? :o

Credit cards are not bad or evil to have. It's how you handle them that counts I got my first card when I turned 18. Shortly there after more card offers came. With in 2 years or so, I had 6 credit cards. And 3 years later I was about $35,000 in card debt. last month the last card was paid off after 10 years. Did I learn a lesson? You bet. Would I have another credit card? Yes, but I would manage it and not let it manage me. And what do I have to show for $35000? 2 leather coats

I get irritated when places have a minimum on what you can charge. I have charged as little as .60. I refuse to carry cash. It's easier to just pay one bill every month than balance a checking account.
