I know of tix that got brown by staying in the glovebox in the summer..
Ive done the burn trick many times at concerts buying tickets in the past. Take a cigarette and put it on the bottom of the ticket the top will turn black but the bottom will not burn. I did this at concerts and it helped me not to buy tickets from many people that had fake ones. But it seems the scammers have caught on and are making better fake tickets. Ive been doing this since 1998 and have never had problem with a fake one that burned right. just so you know the burn will happen right away if it dosent happen right away its fake.
Then, wasn't there someone on here that bought "legit" ticketmaster tickets that ended not being good because the seller had reported them never received or stolen.... (not to throw in another thing to worry about!)
I think this was mentioned before, but you should be able to go to a Ticketmaster outlet and they can scan it to determine if it is legit. Of course that doesn't stop someone from selling good tickets, collecting your money, then showing up at the ticket window the day of the show stating they were never received, showing their ID, getting new ones issued, rendering your tickets useless.
Anyway, they have a list of retail outlets on the web site:
