So much for heroes.
The world of professional sports somehow becomes a lot less appealing when you realize that, bottom-line, it's a business. Owners have very little loyalty to players, and why should they? The object is to win. If a player can be replaced by someone else who'll do the job at least as well and/or cost less, the owners will jump at it; players will jump to whatever team offers them the highest price. Yes, there are exceptions. But they are exceptions.
I've pretty much given up on hockey, football, baseball... I used to follow the Boston Bruins religiously through the 70s and 80s. Now? I don't think I could name anyone one the team. And the NFL? I just feel sorry for folks who buy expensive jerseys of their fave players only to find them playing for another team the next season.
As for Adam... probably the greatest cold-weather, clutch kicker ever to play the game. By the time he retires, maybe even the absolute best kicker ever.

Remember the names Patrice Bergeron and Brad Boyes; they are the Bruins shining hope for the future... unless they get traded

Should the Pats bring in Vanderjagt?

It will be nice rooting for him, since I sure have cussed him out plenty the last few years.
I wonder if he can play running back, too?

Don't laugh - it could happen! The Pats need a kicker, and I'd be surprised if they drafted one. Not sure how Vanderjagt would fit in in New England though.
Makes you wonder... just what
is New England going to do with all the cap money they're saving? It's not like they needed to rebuild; they pretty much had most of the key pieces in place, once injured players returned. But who am I to question the brain trust that won three Super Bowls in four years?

while i'm not a colts fan, this is not a good decision. they are both stellar kickers, vanderjagt is probably the best kicker in the league. just because he missed a few clutch kicks doesnt mean he'll always do the same.
as far as the pats losing key talent, remember the pats won 3 super bowls without the most talented teams. (yes i know brady is the best in the league, and there is a LOT of talent on that team), but the pats are a dynasty because of stellar coaching. not sure any other coach in the league could have won 3 super bowls in 4 years with those players

You don't think the White Sox will repeat? They still have the same pitching and some improved left handed hitting, don't doubt them just yet.

Tell me about it...
Last year's voting for the All-Star game... I voted for a lot of Twins. In other teams' uniforms.

As good as Vinatieri was for the Patriots, he should be even better now. He'll be playing 1/2 his games indoors in perfect conditions. He should be as close to automatic as you can get.
