Whatever happened to the BN concert idea?

Post by Ragtop Dawg »

Maybe I just really missed something, but wasn't there a big plan being discussed about this time last year to see about hiring Buffett to play a BN'er only show? Whatever happened to this idea? I hope that this is still alive and well, but I have not seen anything on it in months.

Seemed like everybody was pretty gung ho about it for awhile. What's the word?

It was prohibitively expensive. There was just no way we could pull it off. :(

Now if someone wins the eleventy gazillion dollar powerball or lotto, that's another story.

Once a few people ran the actual numbers on getting such a gig together, the idea quietly died.

Mammoth undertaking, requiring some deep pockets to get started, and a lot of BNer's willing to put down large sums of money.

Sad story, but true.

Of course, I keep hoping one of us will hit the Ultra-Super-Mega-Jumbo-Jackpot Lottery and write a check for the deal.

That was somewhere around the beginning of May last year. I remember not being able to check BN for a couple of hours and when I got back I missed like 10 pages.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,

Tonight I just need my guitar

Yeah, we could invest it and with the current rate of return, we'd be there in about 475 years....only about 200 years if everybody chipped in $5.

Instead of Jimmy coming to us, I say we all plan a big trip down to St. Barts, (since thats the hot spot of catching Jimmy) hang around down there for a week in the local bars, hope that Jimmy plays one of them, and we all gather around him and say its our own "Personal Concert" with paying the millions of dollars:lol:

and plus, if Jimmy don't show up, we'll still have a damn good time in St. Barts! :pirate:

OK OK....who do I make the check out to? I will contribute the first million and a half, but I am telling the rest of you right now you better help contribute the additional $500,000.00.

P.S..Anybody know any good bankrupsy attorneys, I have a feeling that my check is going to bounce. :pirate:

Why not just start a BN lotto club. Thousands of tickets every week, it should only be 6 or 7 months before we hit.
Then the first $2 mill. goes toward the concert. All we need to do is send $1 per week to an honorable BN'er to collect the money and buy the tickets.

never mind...................
