Or the one about getting a gift certificate from Applebee's.

Who wants a gift certificate from that miserable restaurant anyway!?!?
Someone's not "feeling good in the neighborhood!"
Eh, I guess since I live in a place that I can go to thousands of fabulous, original and high quality restaurants, I consider it punishment to eat at an Applebee's.
I went on one date with this guy. Ok, for starters, we went to the Claddaugh. Which is ok, but there are better (and less expensive) places out there, even in Indy. Then I find out his favorite restaurant is Applebees and he considers a golf course nature. So then he tells me that he could tell I would "broaden his horizons". Yeah, not so much my style.

Oh, I agree with you. Applebee's are the barnacles on the ship that is Wal_mart. You get a Wal-Mart, two months later there's an Applebees opening on the other side of the the parking lot.

Jah, regardless of my feelings toward mediocre, mass-produced food at chain restaurants, I'd gladly take a meal from there over anal rape. Crazy position, I know, but I'm not changing my mind!

Did you move to Michigan recently?

I kind of like Claddaugh, but yes, there are better places than that too. Applebee's though has to be at the bottom of the barrell.

Yeah, I moved in with my fiance last weekend.

And it wasn't so much the Claddagh- it was that going there was adventurous to him.

But on topic, I'm also a fan of http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/.

Ugh! And when they decorate all the restaurants with local sports heroes!? Tacky, tacky, tacky.

My opinion is based my knowledge of how it is prepared. You can make "acceptable" food in a microwave, but if you want GOOD food....avoid Applebees.

It's mediocre food with good marketing.
