Is any one else getting stock offers in their email?

Post by Sam »

I am getting any numerous "heads up" of stock offers. ( not that I would buy any stock based yopn unsolicted SPAM. I am just wondering if anyone else is getting them or ever heard of any of the stocks before or ever checked any of the stocks out.

I just report them to the FCC and my server as SPAM and forget about them.

What is sort of wierd.... some of the offers I am getting don't seem to have anywhere to buy the stock or get any info about you or a place to reply to. ( Not that I am about to reply to them)
And then they have all this wierd incoherent gibberish on them....I also noticed on some of them there is a lot more in the e-mail than what it appears to be. I never open the emails I just get the complete header info and forward them on to the respective agencies.....
Roll with the punches, play all of your hunches...come what may...

None here, but plenty of 'gift card' offers.

Luckily Yahoo just dumps 'em directly in my spam folder. :D

Yeah, my Yahoo account gets bunches of those (although they do get directed to the spam folder).
But none of those is quite as peculiar as one I got today.

The subject line was "Circumcision"

The message was:
"Lose weight fast!
Try the hottest #1 proven weight loss formula available today, without a prescription!"

Now I don't know whether to be frightened or flattered! :o

That's just scary geisty! :o :o :o

Sam, I could be wrong, but I always thought the gibberish is to get around more primitive spam blockers. By putting in the gibberish, they hope it triggers a word that will allow for it to get by the blocker, I believe. I believe newer spam blockers will block it anyway.

Tonight I just need my guitar

I get them too. I just report them as spam without opening them. I don't frequent any stock sites.

I get e-mail from people who are so worried about my male member size or about how hard it is. I'm not worried about this! I just report this as spam but I still receive it. The spam that I get a laugh about is those e-mails wanting me to increase my breast size. I just can't see how I can be mistaken for a lady!
No quarter given!

Thing is I have not visited any stock sites other than Edward's (or something like that) while doing some research.

The only time I see the spam is when I paste the complete header info on the forward, and send it to the FCC and my server. ( My server adds them to the spam block list)
I was just curious how many others recieve such.

God only knows why I get them....I m guessing that they are penny stocks...as best that I can tell, from the few I have looked over before sending.

I read something a while back about a scam going around involving stocks and being sent SPAM. I forgot what the article stated about how the scam works,(NOT that it matters) but if I don't know them and I did not ask for any information...I don't deal with them or want anything to do with them.

They are standard spam. I get them at home from time to time, and we regularly block 1000+ of those stock emails at work a week.

Oddly enough, I got one of these spams today. The usual hyperbole "This ones ready to fly ..... Watch it take off .... the next big gainer .... blah, blah, blah". I do have to admit it included probably the most honest Safe Harbor statement I've ever read:

The Company is not a reporting company registered under the Exchange Act of 1934. We have received two million three hundred thousand free trading shares from a third party not an officer, director or affiliate shareholder.

We intend to sell all our shares now, which could cause the stock to go down, resulting in losses for you. Today's company has: an accumulated deficit and a reliance on loans from officers and affiliates to pay expenses. It is not an operating company. The company is going to need financing to continue as a going concern.

A failure to finance could cause the company to go out of business. This report shall not be construed as any kind of investment advice or solicitation. You can lose all your money by investing in this stock.
