Ok people just wanting to know how many people still file the old fashion way of sitting down with a pencil/pen, a paper and a calculator, or how many file online, or how many take their information into a professional to have it done.

For me the old fashion method of pen and paper and doing it myself. No real good reason other than by habit.

Been using Completetax for about 5 years now. May switch next year, they're getting expensive ($35 this year, first time I used them it was $15 or $20).

Pen and paper and I always do them myself. I don't have a lot of deductions so anything an accountant could save me would be eaten up by what he charged me. I have to pay both federal and NY state this year so the check won't be in the mail until April 18th.

I've been using TurboTax for as long as I can remember (OK, admittedly that might not be too long) and e-filing pretty much since it was available.
Apparently now I'm H & R Blockhead because not only do I get to do my own taxes, I'm the preparer for my daughter .... and my son .... AND my mother-in-law. And what really sux is that all of them got refunds and I had to PAY.

We used to use pen and paper....easy returns. We tried Turbo Tax once and it wouldn't let us claim our daughter as a dependant...so we pretty much lost all faith in that.

When we had some changes in life...we just let the tax lady prepare them...we just don't want the hassle anymore.

I use the premium turbotax online since I have to do all of the schedules for businesses and investments. Works great for me :)

My step-dad worked for the IRS for about 15 years. I learned at a very early age all about all things taxes. I am very good at them. I used to do them on paper and then electronically to make sure all the numbers jived. For 4 years, it's come out exactly the same so now I just trust the e-file stuff.
