So far the stackey-bins and/or a bookshelf with clear rubbermaid containers are in the lead. We have a corner devoted to toys in our living room, and that's what would fit the space the best.Four Play wrote:Let me know when you figure it out. Heck! I wish we could send you our changing table/dresser because Tony's practically potty trained now and doesn't really need it anymore!

We still have all of the furniture - although we were planning to have a garage sale this spring to get rid of all the baby stuffbuffettbride wrote:Heck! I wish we could send you our changing table/dresser because Tony's practically potty trained now and doesn't really need it anymore!
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving

You might also try The Container Store (www.containerstore.com). They sell all sorts of container-ey
type stuff. (imagine that!)

That's OK. It will fetch probably $50 at the garage sale we're planning (but not 'til after hubby gets his VS).Four Play wrote:We still have all of the furniture - although we were planning to have a garage sale this spring to get rid of all the baby stuffbuffettbride wrote:Heck! If you have an Ikea near you, take a ride over there. It will probably not surprise anyone that my husband has a MASSIVE lego collection, and that's where I went to get a setup to organize them. You can pretty much pick anything there and it will store them nicely. Pretty bins, containers, or baskets, and they're all cheap
They also have a whole children's section of storage that might help.
Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all..

No Ikea store anywhere near by (an excuse to go to PA, I suppose). Just checked online, though, and the stuff I can afford is in-store only.sy wrote:If you have an Ikea near you, take a ride over there. My 'keet is only 1 and we already have this problem. I had no idea he would amass so much stuff in just one year. But he's the only grandchild so far, so the grandparents all went a little overboard for Christmas and his b-day.
I'll probably start doing the rotation thing soon.....he just has too many toys to play with them all right now. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this stuff when he gets too old to play with it. Would love to keep it for potential future 'keets, but no good place to put it in our house.

or put all the toys in a big pile in the backyard and light them on fire while he watches. Then tell him if he'd been a good boy and put his toys away, this wouldn't have happened. Kids respond well to that sort of thing. At least mine does.....she thanks me all of the time when we go visit her in lock up

I have used a trash-bag to clean Victoria's room before. She was too busy reading the Bible.
I'm not sure how I got a kid like that.

Good luck with the toys, Mal!

So, have you had the "When you get to heaven, don't bother lookin' for Mommy" talk yet?buffettbride wrote:pbans wrote:Yes, either make him get a job.....rednekkPH wrote:He's 2 years old, why the hell is he still playing with toys??? Delaney has two of those! But then again what the hell do we care, we're rich!buffettbride wrote:...and I just can't take it anymore!!!!
My kids have WAYYYYY too much stuff. Aside from selling them off (the toys, not the kids) at a garage sale later this spring, what do y'all do to keep toys neat and organized? The toys are freakin' everywhere!!!!! If I step on one more Lego I'm gonna scream!!
I wanted to get 2-3 of these:

because they would surely do the trick, but at close to $60 a pop that's just more than I want to spend.
Any tips or tricks for making a make-shift something-or-other like that?
I've checked Craigslist, and haven't really found any deals either.
Thanks!!!
