Thomas Heidenberger is a US Airways Captain whose wife Michelle was an American Airlines flight attendant. She died when her aircraft, American Airlines Flight 77, was flown into the Pentagon during the 9-11 terrorist attacks.

He serves on the board of the Pentagon Memorial Committee and he came up with an idea to honor the memories of the 33 airline crewmembers who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

He and others will be riding from California (starting near LAX) to Washington DC (the Pentagon) to raise money for the three 9-11 memorials that are being planned for Pennsylvania, New York and Washington DC to remember all the victims of those attacks. Their goal is $300K.

The ride begins this Sunday April 2 and plans to end at the Pentagon on May 9. To find out more about the ride, or to donate go here:

Thanks for having a look at this worthy cause.

Cheers.
