Daylight Saving Time This Weekend

Post by SMLCHNG »

Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Apr. 2. Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour. And don't forget to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. ;)

A Little History:
Daylight Saving Time was instituted in the United States during World War I in order to save energy for war production by taking advantage of the later hours of daylight between April and October. During World War II, the federal government again required the states to observe the time change. Between the wars and after World War II, states and communities chose whether or not to observe Daylight Saving Time. In 1966, Congress passed the Uniform Time Act which standardized the length of Daylight Saving Time. Arizona, Hawaii, parts of Indiana, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa have chosen not to observe Daylight Saving Time.

I think all of Canada (except Alberta) observes daylight savings time too.
And don't forget us poor yokels who have to get up & go to WORK Sunday morning. I'm on the 6 AM-6 PM shift. I'll have to come straight home from work on Saturday and go right to bed.
NO TV,
NO CORONA,
NO BIG DINNER,
NO NOTHING.

We here in Indy are changing times for the first time in my lifetime. It's going to be interesting. Especially since the Final Four is here this weekend too! I'm glad I'm leaving town! :)

We all have email addresses in the directory and we get emails about things going on at the church. That's another idea if you have that.

I guess I'll be getting up at one o'clock instead of noon next week.
I hate DST... always have. Why'd they listen to Ben Franklin anyway?
It's not like he was ever going to be president or anything...

I don't like it either! I'd rather have it both lighter and darker earlier rather than later. It makes so much more sense to me.
