August is the time to go...everything is emerald green....the salmon berries are out and the halibut in in shallow.....It is a beautiful place....If you go, beware that it is one of the most expensive plane tickets in the US....$1200 one way from Dutch to Seattle or visa versa.... ...
Summer time you will just see Pollock trawlers and longliners.....crab is a winter game (well for the most part....we do have a couple of brown king boats that come and go...)....though you can go out sport crabin'....get some red kings.....
