Billy Joel Still Has It After All These Years!!!!
Last night, I had the great honor of being in the 20th row, dead center, at Billy Joel's Hartford, Connecticut concert. MY GOD...SUCH AN AWSEOME EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!! I can't yell it any louder, folks. I went to the concert knowing that it would be a good show. But, I didn't expect to be as blown away as I was last night. Billy, coming out of his "retirement", would have some sour moments I though......but I was dead wrong. His voice actually sounded much better than older recordings. That alone is hard to do at his age. Along with a mint voice, he had the perfection at the piano and guitar going for him.
Yes, he rocked to the well-known songs such as "moving out", "my life", "you may be right", and "we didn't start the fire". He did manage to get a huge reaction to other older, not so well-known, songs such as "sometimes a fantasy", "stilleto", and "always a woman". This is truely a show that the ultimate Billy Joel fan can't miss.
The only bad thing about this tour is that he stayed up north. Well, he did hit up Florida for a couple shows, but come on. I think next year he will come down south. The reason why he stayed up north could be because he wanted to see the reaction of coming back to tour. Kind of like a test if you would. But after seeing the reation he got when he toured this year, it is hard to see how he wouldn't throw a bigger, more spread out tour, next year.
Good job Billy, we'll be looking for you next year in Carolina!!!

Sunset Beach is my Margaritaville. Where there is endless beach, no time, and sunshine that seems to last forever. I know that Someday I Will.....Someday.

AMAZING show! Without a doubt, one of the best I've ever seen. I was expecting a good show, but had no idea the kind of energy and stage presence he has. And, unlike most other older artists out there, his voice seems to have gotten stronger with age. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the chance to go.

What do you have against Billy Joel? I can understand the Toby Keith and Garth Brooks, but Billy Joel has written some great music during his career.Jahfin wrote:Hells yeah!buffettbride wrote:At Fenway!Jahfin wrote:My only hope is that he'll team up with Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Garth Brooks and Dave Matthews for an all star tour!

Where do I even begin with some of the lyrics that Buffett has written over the years?

I can go onMy point is that even our favorite artists have written bad songs. I do have to say though that I have yet to hear a Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, or Bruce Springsteen song that I didn't like.
And I have heard songs that I did not like from all three of them.

I have nothing against Billy Joel but you left out Keith Urban.jbfinscj wrote:What do you have against Billy Joel? Why would Billy team up with one of them? He doesnt have to. He sounds great just the way he is. Plus, he could sell out any venue by just playing with his band.
Too bad Liberty DeVito isn't the drummer this go around.
