I enjoy both but I don't have to have the pre-concert festivities to have a great time.

:D I have a surprize for most of you. My wife and I don't tailgate and we DON"T DRINK! :o :o :o Yes we see Jimmy totally sober.

We go to hear Jimmy and for the concert experience. We tailgate in the sense that we bring a BUFFETT Buffet to ever concert . We enjoy good food, soft drinks and Parrothead Nation Camaraderie.

When we go into the concert we have to have a seat, because I'm too old to be sitting on the ground anymore. Finally, once you go forward.....you never go back. A concert from a seat up front is a totally different concert then a seat in the back. But with all that being said.........IT"S THE MAN AND HIS MUSIC .....all the way!

If it wasn't for the tailgating, I would not go to the concert.

True, I go for the whole experience, but a big part of that experience is the party before hand....the best party there is.

If I just wanted to hear him sing, I'd either listen to the concert on SIRIUS or put in one of his CD's.

Can we make it Cincinnati instead? My parole doesn't allow me to leave the state.

The people that started showing up at Grateful Dead concerts for the party only were some of the very ones that ended up ruining it for everyone else. Not saying that's true across the board nor does it apply to everyone that attends Buffett shows for the tailgate only, I'm just sayin'....

It's also important to remember there was a time before all the Parrothead madness (which has it's bad as well as it's good side) kicked in when there was no tailgating.

I would certainly go to a show without the tailgate, I've done it before. But since I am one of the tailgate planners in our group, I'd feel something was missing if I didn't spend a little time socializing in the parking lot.

There was a time when you could see Buffett play in a venue that held 3000 people....now that I'd see w/o any tailgating.

So, if there was NO TAILGATING, some of you would not go???
Not at all??

Maybe that's the reason he dropped The Woodlands for his tour??
There is never any tailgating.

I would still go, but I'm thinking I would still prefer to go where
my night before or day before would include pholks I want to hang with.
