Spiffy Hats for Concerts......
Hey Everyone!!!
Last time I was in Vegas, I noticed many peeps with really cool homemade Parrothead hats......I know that there are vendors sometimes making the straw ones and selling them-but this year I am hoping to create a unique one of my own......
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on to how they got theirs started??.......
I wont go so far as to have a blender on my head but any creative tips/places to shop would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
THANKS!

First thing to remember- you have to wear it on your head the whole time if you want to keep it, so make sure it's light. And it will pi$$ the people behind you off if it's too high.
And honestly, in my experience, it's really cool for about 10 minutes, then it just sucks.

Yes I agree and I am still in shock that the chick with the blender on her head lasted the whole pre-party!!!Coconuts wrote:First thing to remember- you have to wear it on your head the whole time if you want to keep it, so make sure it's light. it doesnt s*** as long as it's not too heavy. that is what will make it s***. but you are right about having to wear it the whole time if you dont want it taken.Coconuts wrote:First thing to remember- you have to wear it on your head the whole time if you want to keep it, so make sure it's light. A few years ago I cut the bottom off of a pinata. It worked well, except I was with my older brother, who of course though it was great fun to push it down over my head! I went for a T-shirt, and on the way back some drunk guy bought it from me for $20. I think it was less than $10 for the thing, and I was mostly glad to be rid of it, other than what my hair looked like.
And I am sure (at least I hope!) she took the motor out of the blender!!

Comfort is the key, and a willingness to take it off during the show if it obstructs anyone's view. Get a good hat that you can "build" on, and look for trinkets to add at craft, scrapbooking, and liquor stores!
I think mine is pretty spiffy, and I've had many people offer to buy it for up to $300.00, when it cost less than $20.00 to make. My family (and probably some of you) think I'm nuts for saying no, but I like that it's a 1 of a kind!
Have fun!

Last year I had a guy come up to me in the venue in Cinci and offer to buy my beads. He was actually serious. Silly thing, they wouldn't have gone with the suit and tie he had on..Tiki Bar wrote:Comfort is the key, and a willingness to take it off during the show if it obstructs anyone's view. That craft foam stuff is really good for embelishing and its really brightly colored. It comes in 8 1/2" x 11" sheets. Plus its really light weight
