Buffett Cover Bands

Post by HTparrothead »

Looking for a good JB cover band to play a party. Does anyone know of any good ones around the south?

Thanks
Fall semester in a Southern college town has little to do with studying and more to do with football and fraternity rush. I didn't know much about the football team. Hell at that time I was really an Ole Miss fan and to this day I still cant figure out why I didn’t enroll at the U of Mississippi-JB

Depends on what you mean by South. Don Middlerbook and company split time between MI and FL and anywhere he travels in between.

They are our club band from Asheville, NC. If you want to PM me, I can give you more details. Where in the South are you located?

now, as far as actual tribute bands
I'd go with either A1A or The Landsharks

some of these others listed and you might get too many original songs

I have their C.D. "Back To the Islands." Excellent songs on that one.

Has anyone heard of a band called Hat Trick (I think thats it). I think they play mostly in the midwest. They played our pre-party for the concert at Alpine Valley a couple years ago and were great. I can't seem to find a website for them to see where/when else they perform.

I would not consider a lot of them Buffett cover bands although they have been known to play some Buffett. They all have plenty of original material.
"Buffettesque"...yes but not cover bands.
For example, I can't see Jim Morris doing an all or mostly Buffett cover show. He usually plays a few at his shows.

I'd go with A1A, they're a lot of fun and the lead singer "jeff" is a great guy. Plus they sing a song I wrote!!

Not sure what location you're from. Do know of Garratt Wilkin and the Parrotheads. They're awesome and maybe their schedule could accomodate you.

True and I agree but MOST tropical themed bands do at least a couple of Buffett Tunes.

I just consolidated my cd's last night into one big case vs. 3 smaller ones. I laughed to myself when I noticed how many great groups/soloist's cd's I have that all came from me LOVING Buffett.

Jim Asbell. He usually plays solo with a 'band in a box' but he is great and his shows are usually 100% Buffett music. He also does some gigs in a duo with his keyboard player.
