Ticket Discussion

Does anyone else find it a little disturbing that on the main/home page of buffett news there is a link to buy tickets from ticketsnow.com at outrageous prices? They say no scalping on the ticket exchange page, but they let these "brokers" (aka professional scalpers) advertise right on this site. Just does not seem right to me at all :x

I agree it's strange. I'd rather buy from the Ticket Exchange at a little more than face value than to pay those mobsters what they're asking.

Maybe we can look at it from the point of view that he is providing a service by accepting ads from reputable ticket brokers.

Let's say there is a Buffett show you want to see but there are no tickets available here. He is providing information on where you may be able to get the tickets if you want even though they will sell for more than face value.

I don't feel it's promoting scalping. If Jim was promoting scalping he would allow tickets to be sold for any price here on his site, and he is not.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.... :pirate:

Actually it's totally random thing that the banner company does. It's a key word thing. Like "Buffett".

Oh good GAWD, MF!
So now based on the keyword in the topic, something advertising "tickets to seal hunts" will appear in the banner ad.
(I am not promoting or speaking against anything to do with tickets, seals, clubs, or anyone who ever knew, saw, or had contact with any of the above).

I noticed the same thing.

Not speaking for Jim, but it looks like "ads by google" is targeting their ads based on matching the content of the site and the ads. I suspect that google pays to support the billboard platform the site uses.

But it just goes to show, they are everywhere.

If the website owner doesn't like the content/companies in the ads, they have the ability to "opt-out" of certain companies' ads or certain types of ads.

We should all click the hell out of the ads (but don't buy any tickets), so phjim gets more money, and the brokers have to pay more... :o 8)

I just found tickets in Loge 4, 5 and 8 at Ticketmaster for Saturday, April 22nd at Irvine Meadows. Looks like they just released some new seats.
