Did anyone else have those cute Avon pins in the 70's that had solid perfume in them? I remember a rabbit on rollerskates was one I had. I loved those things.

Related to that, I still have my cheeseburger lip gloss container from Avon. I couldn't bear to throw it away...who knew that it might come in handy for decorating a hat someday.

Hoppe's Gun Oil No 9 !!! ABSOLUTE FAVORITEST!!! Nothing like it!! Well other than maybe dash or two of JP-5, JP-8 or JP-9. 8) :pirate:

First bottle I ever got as a keet, that I remember was English Leather. Dad wore Aqua Velva for many many years. Used to give him Old Spice for Christmas in the various shaped bottles and bottle of Aqua Velva.

Over the years, I have worn various colognes, usually changing either because I did not like the way it smelled on me, to no longer being able to find it. Polo ( never really liked the way it smelled on me, though g/f at the time did). Drakkar and Grey Flannel...(same thing at different times) Halzton Z-14, Liz Claireborne for Men, Curve for Men. Various others I have tried over the years, but cannot remember.

Another thing is ...most people don't realize how a scent reacts with the person's body chemistry. It may smell GREAT on one person and not smell quite the same on another.
Roll with the punches, play all of your hunches...come what may...

My husband uses PHOTO by Karl Lagerfield. He smells just yummy. :D
Another Karl Lagerfeld that I have always liked is Sun, Moon, Stars.

I smell like Victoria's Secret Love Spell body lotion. I don't know what I would do if they ever discontinued that scent.[/img]

I like fragrances on men - just not when they've poured it on, the same goes for how some women do.

Me? I have about 10 or so purfumes I wear depending on the occasion.

My favorites are Opium, Emeraude, and Dune. :)
combination of sand, and a bitter, burned cinnamon scents?

(yeah, I read Frank Herbert... :D)

We used to joke about smelling like "Evening In San Antonio." :)

I guess you'd have to be there!!

I remember one from high school called Wind Song.

Another was Estee Lauder Youth Dew.

My fav was Chanel No. 5

I read, too, that it's back since its disappearance in 1969. It's still kinda fun to find those old blue bottles.

Yes...!

Woolworths on King St, in Charleston , carried it....!

and all the girls wore White Shoulders until you were old enough to wear Youth Dew....I had a roommate at boarding school that used Youth Dew in her bath..then put the lotion on..then the powder..then the perfume...

I couldn't stand to be around her!

and all the boys wore British Sterling and had the monogrammed tags on the bottle???

Been told I smell good - kinda fruity/juicy fruit smell :o
Grapefruit
A bathin' suit
Chew a little Juicy Fruit
Wash away the night

Drive in
You guzzle gin
Commit a little mortal sin
It's good for the soul

Bridge:
And oh it gets so damn lonely
When you're on a plane alone
And if I had the money, honey
I'd strap you in beside me
And never ever leave you
Leave you at home all alone and cryin'

Ten speed
No need
My pickup gets me where I please
Chuggin' down the street

But I'll be leavin'
In a little while
So close your eyes and I'll
I'll be back real soon

Spoken:
";Ah, take it Reefers";
";Ladies choice, Everybody dance";
";Here we go";

Bridge:
Yes and if I had that money, honey
I'd strap you in beside me (in your strapless)
And never ever leave you
Leave you at home all alone and cryin'

Grapefruit
A bathin' suit
You chew a little Juicy Fruit
Wash away the night
Yeah you chew a little Juicy Fruit
It's good for ya soul

there is a local hvac company that has in very large letters on the side of the truck
Our techs are on time and they smell good too.
Mr OC knows the owner and some of the techs. I want to know if the owner does a daily smell check on his workers.

I think that's the nat'l corporate motto for Benjamin Franklin Plumbing (but it may be Blue Dot instead)- you get $50 if they're not.

And I've only needed the smell guarantee for the cable guys!

I am usually wearing Coconut Lime Verbena or Mandarin Mango from Bath and Body Works. They have a great line that includes regular perfume. Otherwise I wear Estee Lauder Beautiful.

Mrs. Port uses some of the J. Ho stuff. But she gets it for free from a friend of hers that works for the company. It's not like she would actually pay for it.

I remember all the Love's Baby Soft, Wind Song, Charlie... too funny. I think that in college I used about 30 dozen Liz Claiborne triangles...

I can't find a favorite of mine... Maxim... bought it in a duty free store years ago. I also like Angel from Nordstroms...

BUT FOR ALL YOU ANCHORMAN FANS -- nothing beats "Sex Panther" by Odeon...

Brian Fantana: [Talking about Veronica] I'll give this little cookie an hour before we're doing the no-pants dance. time to musk up.
[opens cologne cabinet]

Ron Burgundy: Wow. Never ceases to amaze me. What cologne you gonna go with? London Gentleman, or wait. No, no, no. Hold on. Blackbeard's Delight.

Brian Fantana: No, she gets a special cologne... It's called Sex Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good.

Ron Burgundy: It's quite pungent.

Brian Fantana: Oh yeah.

Ron Burgundy: It's a formidable scent... It stings the nostrils. In a good way.

Brian Fantana: Yep.

Ron Burgundy: Brian, I'm gonna be honest with you, that smells like pure gasoline.

Brian Fantana: They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
[cheesy grin]

Ron Burgundy: That doesn't make sense.
I wanna go back to the Island...

See you in Boston, September 2nd!
