I graduated High School in 1977.



For Jr. High I got a watch (all 5 kids did).
For High School I got a set of luggage (all 5 kids did).

Right after I got out of my graduation at school, my dad handed me a carton of Marlboros and told me your outta this place---go ahead and light up.


I can not remember what they gave me for a real gift---senior year of high school through last year of college is a blur to me.

I think I got $100 bucks, and an "atta boy!"

When I graduated, my parents gave me two gifts.
A back pack and a road map.

For my graduation I received the knowledge that my mother was able to attend, even though she was brought by an ambulance from the hospital and had to return after I got to give her a hug. She had been in the hospital for about 3 months at that time and stayed another month and a half. It took 4 months to discover what her problem was. She had an ovarian cyst.

My father who was also in and out of the hospital was there also. My sister was on the ambulance crew.



By the by, Mom just turned 70 last Tuesday, she still works a 12 hour shift
4 days a week.

She will work till she drops.

High school, a gold locket. Undergrad degree, my university ring and a trip to Munich. Education degree, a house. (My late father believed in helping us get started while he was still here to SEE it.) Master's degree, I took myself out for pizza and beer.
