Do you like the new Floridays???

I just heard the new Floridays on RM a few minutes ago... Its the same cut as on Mailboat's website (missing verses), but was much clearer... I still like the old one better :-?
I still love old magazines and Snickers bars....

Much like the re-recordings on Meet Me In Margaritaville, I'm just not "feeling it" , as the youngsters would say.
Floridays was the song that I was banking on being the best Jimmy song on the sountrack but now my back up will have to be "Barefootin".....even if it is the fourth duet with Alan Jackson...

I voted, "feh". Not really impressed. It might grow on me, but I am not sure. It certainly is better than Scarlet Begonias, because I know that piece of trash will never grow on me.

Amazingly tho, the distro of the soundtrack is being handled by Mailboat, and they are projecting 4/18 as a release date...

I believe that once you hear it in the movie you will enjoy it more..... The part of the movie that it plays during is typical Florida scenary... and its breathtaking....

It made me forget how the old version really sounds.... I think I will have to listen to them back to back.

I haven't heard it yet...

However, times like this make me realize how tough it must be living a life where every single decision and move you make falls under so much scrutiny.
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave

Good point ToplessrideFL.
The song, accompanied with the scene from the movie will do what it is intended to.
I think that most people will then be able to hear the new version a bit differently after that.

I have listened to it several times now...allowing it to properly marinate before forming an opinion. I agree...it does feel like a cheap knockoff and I am not really caring for it.  :pirate:

Do you think we are destined for a Reggae version of every song in Buffett's repertoire? :o
