Thanks and thanks for sharing your story as well. Perhaps I should provide a link to mine for every beak freak that comes along that questions my so-called "fandom".

That was Columbus 2 years ago, wasn't it? Maybe they won't go back because of what they saw on the big screen.

I didn't have the advantage of being there. What was on the screen?

Yup!! And after their reaction to that (just a limbo shot), I'm not twisting their arms!
I just hope that if there is a Vegas show the Saturday after the wedding, none of my family wants to go with us (except older brother and little sis)!!

I did a "limbo shot"- it's like an upside down margarita without the chair. (Oh yeah- only 3 people have ever beaten me in a limbo contest, and once was because I was trashed and walking was not quite challenging, but...)

I've got two of those kids.... My oldest tells his friends the BEST concert he's ever attended was Jimmy Buffett.

Nope, not at my house...we ALL are PH's. My FIL came to live with us last year...yup, he had to convert. Of course, he DID move into the basement "den" and have no choice but to sleep with palm trees and parrots everywhere, oddly tho, he didn't mind the mermaid!
My keets are as much as I am...ESPECIALLY the littlest one. She'll tell you exactly what a parrothead is and who we are, what we do and why we do it. Hubby... well, love me, love Buffett. He will wear the grass skirt and outragous outfits too so I think he gets it.
My Mom even made the switch about 5 years ago! MangoNana rocks!
Mal...GREAT new pix of Victoria!

MrTwain,
Is that you fishing on the Gulf Coast? Been there; done that!
Throw down the fishing rod and head on up to Dallas and see what's on the BIG screen.
While you're at it, come see us at Hoot Island.

That's so nice of you to offer. I'll be there for sure with my 14 year old son. It will be our first tailgater ever.

Yes ... tho my family are pretty good about it - they come along to the fundraisers I organise for my club etc to support me.

Yeah, I'm pretty much the only one in my family who gets it. Surprisingly, though, my dad's made a bit of progress. Several friends roll their eyes, and some enjoy the show as an event but don't really "get it". It sure would be a fun thing to share with a significant other.

I`ve always stood up for you. I don't always agree with you, but always respect your opinions. I agree, you should post that everytime someone questions your musical taste when it comes to Buffett.

I am the sole parrot head in my family. What a bunch of immigrants... hahaha.. just kidding...
I'm the only one but my father is slowly being converted. He has a bunch of CDs and really enjoys them... I will get him singing songs other than Cheeseburger in Paradise soon!!!

Mr. Mojito *likes* Jimmy, but he isn't what I'd call a parrothead. His ears did perk up, however, the other day when the article about Jimmy's music reducing the risk of heart attacks!
I raised the keet to be a parrothead. He'll carry on the family tradition.

Mr. Fins is a parrothead, but not as big of one as me. and i am trying to raise my step-kids as PH's but since they are not here all that much, i do my best. they at least know who Jimmy is and both have a favorite song of his.....
Kaitlynn (11) loves "Hokey Pokey" and Autumn (5) loves Volcano (cause the words are easy)

I'm the lone parrothead in my house too.
The wife's been to a few shows though and can morph into a parrothead for a day if need be.
No worries though...........
My best friend/co-worker is as big a parrothead as me and we're the same age.
Weird thing is I never talked to him much until I walked on on him reading Where Is Joe Merchant on lunch break

I am the lone parrothead in my family of 4. My hubby has liked JB for a long time. I have to, but I get it and he doesn't. He said he liked JB a lot more before I "got it". He likes to go to a show every year and he will transform into a parrothead that day, but is not into it the extent I am. My "kids" are nearly 15 and nearly 21, so they're into their own things and just shake their heads at me. There are a couple of their friends, however, that might "get it" soon.
