It definately looks like we have a winner here! :) Thank you again....I knew I could count on y'all!!!

When I take her to the vet on Tuesday I will ask her about Frontline, and get her started with heartworm prevention meds.

LAM.....I don't know if it's just where I live, but I know just being outside sometimes the little sand fleas jump on me. :-? I can't stand those little things.

I use Revolution on Andie which covers both the fleas and heartworms. When They have an offer going that when you buy a 6 month supply from the vet, you get a month free.

We do not use flea meds on our dog. We have always just given him garlic tablets daily and we have never had a problem. No, I take that back, Sambuca did have fleas once right after we moved to the new house and we lapsed in giving garlic for a week or so. But, it seems to work for us.

Don't let them talk you into the shot! There's a new "vaccine" for ticks and fleas. I've heard bad things about it and it's not guaranteed to work.

Also, most vets will price match. Find Frontline online and print out the page. You can buy it from your vet for that price.

Check with a Shih Tzu breeder. I thought they were one of the dogs that had issues with certain types of flea poisons, though I don't remember for sure.
