Hey all.. Mike and I decided to hit Sea World in Orlando on Easter Sunday since are families are out of town. We plan to drive up Friday night and hit Margaritaville for dinner (all are welcome to join). The thing is neither of us have been to Sea World in years.. like 15+ years... any tips as what not to miss. We know about the new coaster and are signed up for the Dolphin Nursery Tour but didn't know if there was any hidden jewel. Keep in mind that we are 25 years olds with the heart of a 6 year old

There is always a sunrise service easter morning.
Non-denominational, televised nationwide, usually a fairly large and diverse crowd ranging from the Christian bikers to little old ladies.
Get there early, easter Sunday is a busy day and it will be hot and crowded by mid-afternoon
As a Florida resident, you can get an annual pass for the cost of a one day admission - do it, it is a great deal!
As far as what to do: don't miss the Clyde and Seymore show - hysterical trained otters and sea lions. If the mime tries to seat you, Don't Go With Him
Feeding the sea lions is fun, they are LOUD when they beg.
Definitely go through the penguin exhibit, it is excellent.
The Atlantis roller coaster/water ride is OK, but not worth waiting over an hour for.
Pet the sting rays, they feel surprisingly soft
If you want to do the luau (sp?) it costs extra, but you can make reservations in advance.
The beer pavillion near the back of the park is a must visit, and you can go through the Budweiser Clydsdale barn while you are back there.

Very cool! I am surprised that it is busy. Universal is DEAD on Easter.
Is the luau worth the price?

Some people like the luau, it not worth the time or money in my opinion.
One other thing I forgot to mention, when they say you may get wet in the splash zone at the Shamu show, they really mean you risk drowning!

My now wife and I were cutting thought Clyde and Seymor's area when there was not a show going on. They were training them and alowed us to watch. They even brought us right up next to the tank and took pictures with them. Talk about lucking out.
MMMMM, Beer. That was also another good part of the Sea World.

It's expensive and usually you need to make reservations WAY in advance, but the Trainer for a Day program is amazing! We know people that did it, and next we go we're doing it. But basically you spend the day shadowing the trainers. I'm talking wetsuits, shoveling walrus poop, plying with sea loins, penguins, the whole nine yards...And yes, you get to "train" with Shamu, or one of his flunkies for a while.
If that's not available see if you can get one of the "behind the scenes" tours.

We signed up for the Dolphin Nursrey Tour for this trip hoping to get some one on one with the baby dolphins. We are going to do the Fun Card so we can go back anytime for the rest of the year. We were talking about the trainer program maybe in Nov for my B'day.

Definitely go through the penguin exhibit, especially if they are feeding, it's a hoot

Although I find penguins particularly amusing anyway...
