Can anyone remember the last time a soundtrack for a movie aimed at a young audience (16 and under) was so highly anticipated? It's not just us here on BN that are so excited, it's the music community in general. There are lots of surprises on this album that many people are anxious to get hold of.

I think that says a lot about the sway and reputation of Mr. Buffett.

I've got a good friend who somehow has gotten ahold of a DVD Screener of the movie itself. I don't know where it came from, and I haven't seen it with my own eyes yet, but I'm hoping on getting ahold of it tomorrow, as he's out trolling at the bars tonight..

I'd be careful talking about that. The only people that are supposed to see those screeners are people that are certified to be in possession of them for official purposes. The studios are VERY protective of those babies.

This isn't a reprimand, just a friendly warning, as I'm sure Jimmy's lawyers have their eyes on this site from time to time, not to mention that the movie's distribution company is probably trolling around "Hoot"-related posts.

Actually, he works in the movie industry and gets them sent to him all the time for some sort of rating/content reviews. I guess my wording just wasn't "correct", but he normally gets the screeners months in advance of the release, though Hoot just showed up last week sometime, and they already have the ratings set.

No complaints from me... I just wish I had a job that forced me to watch brand new movies all the time. You know, not everyone who has copies of a movie before it is release is a pirate... :pirate:

I've not heard much at all about Hoot other than on here.
That said, I still can't wait.

As far as advance copies. I have checked some download sites and have found nothing

My dad works in television and worked in radio and advertising for almost thirty years, and he said that a lot of his friends in radio are talking about the buzz around this album. Apparently there's lots of outside interest in "Werewolves of London" since that song is wildly popular with lots of people to begin with. Maybe it's just a thing where I'm from, but he says they are all excited about the album and are already getting occasionaly requests for songs from the album. Hopefully the album does well and we'll be able to hear some of these cuts on the radio.

I cannot WAIT to hear the rest of this album! I think trojan_sixtyone is right: we can expect some surprises.

It sounds like the theme song is now playing on the Hoot movie website. I like it!

Is Jimmy a good howler, or is this going to be "Scarlet Begonias" redux?

I've heard alot of the soundtrack. There is a harp player on alot of tracks I'm just assuming they're all Fingers.

according to a post that I don't have time to hunt for right now, a harp player named Tom Ball, from California, is supposedly the harp player on the theme track, while a number of other posts have Fingers as the harp player on other tracks.
