At work I listen to Lex and Terry a lot and that's all of the radio I hear.
For music I play cds and my mp3 player most of the time rather than have my music dictated to me. That way if I want hear a song, I play it.
I'm not ready to get satellite radio just for a morning show.

Lex and Terry are moving! :-( When they are funny THEY ARE HIL-BLEEPING-LARIOUS. When they crash and burn though, it is spectacular.)

It's never been 'free'....at the very least you are charged your time to listen to inanne commericals and whole groups of songs you don't want to hear...and let's not even talk about 'live remotes' from the Mickey Mart...or even better....some bar at 1AM with lots of drunks trying to get on the radio. (Listening to drunks when you aren't isn't much fun.)

Add to that that many markets just don't have good radio stations anymore....and...well...I'll pay.

Traffic. Not so much. It takes me 3 minutes to drive across town from home to work. It takes 5 if I have to stop at one of the 4 traffic lights in town.

Edit: and for those of you who don't believe in "pay" radio... I live in BFE, and the only station that comes in decent enough is a spanish music station... I'll gladly pay for the opportunity to listen to good tunes on my 5 minute drive :)

Traffic Report?? Nada problem here..
The only ones in cars on the main drags are the tourists and with the way they drive, without taking notice of the locals on our bikes, it's safer for all of us if they're stuck in bumper to bumper. The rest of us take the 'back roads' to avoid them.. or simply ride past them on our bikes laughing at the thought of 'traffic jams' as we run the redlight that is holding them up...

Now if you're looking for tidal conditions, water visibility or fishing reports.. yeah, we've got one.. his names Bill 8)

Marlin Perkins should do my traffic report. On any typical morning drive, I can pass/dodge:

deer
turkeys
pheasants
quail
raccoons
opossums
coyotes
fox
river otters
rabbits
squirrels
snakes
eagles
ducks
geese
trumpeter swans

to name a few. So far in almost five years, I have only mushed two squirrels and a snake

We have a weather guy here in NY named Storm Field. I think they were trying to start a dynasty, his father was the weather guy on the local NBC affiliate, he was on the ABC affiliate (I think he's on UPN now) and his 2 sisters were general assignment reporters on the same station as the father.
