Season Opener - Phoenix 4/18

Post by LittleMrMagic »

This is a desperate call to all Parrotheads-in-arms that know how to enjoy a Buffett show to either help me find a party in Phoenix the night before the show or. . .
to help me make fun of the most unappreciative lot I have ever seen when it comes to having Jimmy Buffett in their town. We are less than 7 days now from the night of the concert and under pre-concert gatherings there are only 21 posts - 5 of those from me!!!

Where is the excitement?
Where is the enthusiasm?
Where are all the Phoenix parrotheads???
I know they sold out the concert!!! So where are the other 20,000 fans besides me???!!!???
I'm having to go on vacation to your fair city Phoenixites, where is the hospitality? Where is the Parrothead greeting party??? Where is the PHUN!!!
I'm thinking you are some of the old time Parrotheads that don't remember how to have fun and cut loose and party - either that or you can't get a sitter for the 'Keets. Hell, bring 'em - its only $36.00 for lawn seats, they'll have a blast!!! I've even got two pairs of tickets on the tickets exchange, but. . .

MY GOD! SOMEBODY HELP ME FIND THE PARTY ON MONDAY!!!

Help me Obi-wan Parrothead, you're my only hope!!!

Phoenix - Kinda Weird

Post by Catch&Release »

There are still excellent seats avaiable to the PHX show in the center of the 2nd Pavillion.

It's kinda weird, but this show doesn't seem to be generating the same enthusiasm that there is for shows like Boston, Alpine, Cinci, etc...

I can't make the show and am sure it will be awesome. I just wonder why Jimmy doesn't have the same cult status in AZ????
I don't want to live on that kind of island
No, I don't want to swim in a roped off sea.
Too much for me, too much for me
I've got to be where the wind and the water are free.

Heck, Four Play Palm hasn't even been invited!! :o

How sad is that...missing the very first show of the year. :( :( :(

Last I heard, he was moping around Treasure Island and wouldn't even go to the beach anymore....

It's because everybody in Arizona is like 80 and toting around an oxygen bottle... they get in the way trying to tailgate. Oh, and there isn't any golf cart parking at the stadium...

Maybe somebody should "step up" to the plate and start making things happen. They don't just magicly happen by themselves, ya know?

In fact, I completely forgot that Four Play Palm has his very own thread, that gives you the scoop on "using" him. Here 'tis:

I'd take him if I could get out of here... Phoenix is only a 12 hour drive or so from here, but to get out of work and to get someone to watch the keets in the middle of the week.... **sigh**

Yeah, where's the pre-concert parties? I'm coming in Sat for the concert, gonna hit a D-Backs game or 2 but could still use a little parrot type party. Let us know what's up! IN PARRTHD

Is there a local BN'er who can make a suggestion and arrangements? Or at least a suggestion, since "arrangements" can be figured out online or on the phone.

There is a Tiki Bar in Scottsdale called "The Drift" (www.driftlounge.com), I thought this might be a fun place to hang out if we just want to take it and run with it. Any and all BN'ers, it would be cool to meet there. Check out the website, tell me what you guys think. . . I'll repost this on the preshow gathering board.

NOW yer talkin'! :D

Now that you've gotten started, I'll lock this thread so that all the Phoenix show planning can take place in one place, and nothing gets mistakenly overlooked.
