As I've said here before; if you are coming to Orlando for rides, the best rides in town are at Universal's Islands of Adventure.

Will caution my daughter, too . . . she'll be there on the 21-30. Not her thing really, rides like this at age 22, but if someone dares her . . .

My nine year old daughter went on it with me last summer. She loved it! That was shorty after a child died after it last spring I believe.

I went on Mission Space and almost had a nervous breakdown. I pulled the over head restraint too tight against my chest and could barely breathe...once you are in the capsule, there is no way to contact anyone from the outside...I had to talk myself into staying calm...it was horrible!

Never been on Mission Space - but I could have used a sick sac after far too many rides thru It's A Small World.
I believe the exact words I whispered to my wife halfway thru my third run were:
Shoot me now!! My kids loved it tho and that's what counts.
Cheers.

Autopsy Shows Disney Ride Did Not Cause Woman's Death
POSTED: 4:12 pm EDT April 14, 2006
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A German woman who became ill this week after riding "Mission: Space" at Walt Disney World died from bleeding of the brain, the Orange-Osceola Medical Examiner's Office said Friday.
Hiltrud Bleumel, 49, also had severe, longstanding high blood pressure, Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jan Garavaglia said in a statement.
There was no evidence of trauma, she said.
The official cause and manner of death will not be available for several weeks when tests of the victim's brain, organs and toxicology reports are final, Garavaglia said.
Walt Disney World reopened its "Mission: Space" attraction Thursday because engineers found it was operating properly, a day after Bleumel died at a local hospital.
State officials said Disney reported Bleumel feeling dizzy and nauseous after her ride Tuesday. She was taken to Celebration Hospital, where she died Wednesday.
A 4-year-old Pennsylvania boy also died in June while riding Mission: Space. An autopsy determined Daudi Bamuwamye, of Sellersville, Pa., died of an irregular heartbeat linked to natural causes.
The boy's had an abnormal thickening of the heart muscle that can throw heart contractions out of coordination. People with the condition are at risk of sudden death throughout their lives, especially in physically or emotionally stressful situations, a medical examiner said.

This is enough for me not to ride it!

Especially after a trip to the Margarita booth in Mexico, and some German Beer, and some Sake, and some.....
I forgot about the Margarita booth in Mexico...
Found out yesterday that the Pirates of the Caribbean is closed until July.

yep, I was so disappointed too. It seems they are adding Johnny Depp to it...
I was let down about that too since I had been telling my son about for a while.
And I did not know that the Jungle Cruise was gone too

I kinda like teh Pirates changes. Too bad about Jungle Cruise. The "guides" were corny enough to make you laugh. I guess it's not really needed with real animals at Animal Kingdom. So what is exactly in the Adventureland part of the park? Is the Swiss Family Treehouse still there?

parrot bay, dont be nervous about mission space. people keep dying on this ride because they dont pay attention to the warnings (which are plastered everywheres) as long as you dont have a heart condition, you'll love it. its one of the best rides in disney
