Just remember it always seems to be the ignorant that are quick to make the stupid comments.Island_Lullaby wrote:ok, so I was just told that I was nothing more than a glorified babysitter...I teach Kindergarten...any thoughts on this...please be honest, but not offended if I do not reply right away as I need to calm down
I teach 7th/8th, but I do not have the patience to TEACH Kindergarten.
Let it go, cause they will still remain stupid long after you have gotten over being mad.
I've got coastal confessions and a few more, how about you?

Lisa, you plant some of the most important learning seeds in the whole process, with reading-readiness, numeracy and number sense, social skills, etc. As a resource/student services consultant who deals with senior high, I KNOW what you and your peers are worth - SOLID GOLD!

Who said that and why?
You KNOW that's not true. So don't let it get to you (I know that's easier said than done.) What does the person do who said that to you? I'm sure that whatever it is, it is nowhere near as important, or challenging, or rewarding as what YOU do.
And I still remember my kindergarten teacher AND the teacher's aid who was in the class, too. In fact, I remember all my elementary school teachers. They were all so special and important in shaping the kind of person I have become. And when your students are pushing 30 (like me), they'll remember you, too.
