Watching M*A*S*H tonight, and Hawkeye was playing Marbles and Hopscotch.
I used to love Hopscotch, curb baseball, Red Rover, Dodge Ball, Hide-N-Seek, and so many others.
What games did you play?

Hide and Seek in the very last light of the day as the world cooled down from the summer heat.
Dodge Ball up against the brick gym wall hoping I wasn't the first one picked off.
Red Rover in second grade in the clover field out past the playground where we only allowed with an accompanying adult.
King of the Ride, a game sure to be banned in the present day, where we climbed into the center section of the merry-go-round, spinning as fast as it could go powered by 10 pairs of third grade legs and fought our way to the pinnacle. Great fun....sort of scary and more then one copatriot ended up puking with motion sickness.

Dirtbomb fights!!!
Especially right after the road got graded, leaving piles of ammo on both sides.
We also use to chase the mosquito truck...that explains a lot eh?
After the baseball games at the park we would play CupBall.
Just ball up a paper cup and hit it with your hand.
And you can get a runner out by throwing it at him!!
Played a lot of wiffle ball too.
Sandlot football with 2 to 3 on each team was always fun...Go loooong on every play!
Got into BB gun fights briefly

do you have to ask?

Hide from car headlights after dark... cops didn't think it was funny

All of yours, Angel Penny, and some of Kath's, too! Ahhhhhh, the innocence! Too soon, it turned into Truth or Dare, Post Office and Spin the Bottle.

I am not making this up....
We played "Hot Col Buttered Beans"..... We took a leather belt and someone would hide it in the yard - then the rest of us would look for it and whoeverfound it first got to whip everybody weith it until they got to base.
Therapy is expensive ... bubble wrap is cheap
I was much happier when we all switched to kick the can!!!!

Oh man....I loved Jacks! Can't believe I forgot those! I actually found a set a few years ago with real metal jacks and the rubber ball...not that cheap foam imitation one that they started using with plastic jacks. I taught my kids at school how to play...even the boys!

Oh me too! And we used a "superball" to get a better bounce...
Besides around the world, we planed Airplane..where you bounce the ball up and catch it
before it bounces.
And what about marbles...tried to get the other's cool shooters...
