ok you new englanders call it patriots day, but on this day in 1775 in Concord and surrounding towns, a group of enemy combatants not wearing the uniform of any nation state took up arms against the armed forces of England.....

Patriots Day is only a holiday in Maine and Mass. not all of New England.

It's all a matter of perspective. Often times, the only difference between a patriot and a terrorist is what end of the rifle barrel you find yourself on.

Or who wins and writes the history book.

And because of that, New York's taxes aren't due until tomorrow since the taxes are being mailed to Andover, Mass.

...a group of enemy combatants not wearing the uniform of any nation state took up arms against the armed invaders of England.....
I imagine that's what they'll call it someday in Iraq

I think some people in this country would say we need a big tea party again to protest the taxes, but I like tea so can we pick something else. How about we throw overboard the crooked politicians.

I have long generally disagreed with the saying "One man's terrorist is another man's Freedom Fighter." I can consider the saying to a point, but not in this particular case.
Pardon me while I see no humor in this comparison or with the situation in Iraq.
I would not even dare contemplate or to try qualify any member of al Qaeda or other terrorist group that INTENTIONALLY TARGETS and murders civilians and noncombatants, or people simply because they are from another country, as a Freedom Fighter.
Those particular non uniformed men you spoke of, have become what we know of today as "Special Forces". They used "cover and concealment and camouflage. They did not run around in "lobster suits" being easy targets.
Terrorists by nature/definition do not limit themselves to strictly military targets. The WTC on 9/11, busses, etc. acts of terror, have been done murdering/maiming innocent civilians, women, children, numerous other noncombatants.
I most definitely agree with getting rid of all the crooked politicians.

I'm sorry, but the sheer ignorance behind this statement stuns me!

If you want to know why the war began all you have to do is take a quick read of the Declaration of Independence. Please do some reading on the factors leading up to the Revolution before you go comparing people like Jefferson and Washington to terrorists.

Actually, I like the comparison...whether it's valid isn't the point, what's important is it makes me pause and think of things from a different perspective.
Looking at things from a similar angle can help us understand why many in the Middle East think of George Bush as a terrorist...how else does one justify what he has done to Iraq?

You have your opinion and are welcome to it. Just as I have mine. I don't know anyone that honestly supports a successful win for the U.S. and Coalition Forces ( the actions of President Bush) to consider him a terrorist.
Perhaps there are some who actually do believe so, if they do then perhaps they should reconsider what fanatical muslims have done and perhaps would prefer life under the Taliban or some such and just what they ( the fanatical muslim terrorists) will do in the future with such a high morale of having defeated the U.S. and Coalition forces, and how and where to fight them in the future.
One thing for sure if we lose in Iraq....it will be a much longer struggle with many more innocent deaths and a much higher loss of troops.
America is Free and Independent Nation for a reason.....
