Buffett autograph?
My dad has instilled the love of Buffett music in me my whole life. Being a daddy's girl I want to do something special for him for his 51st birthday. He has recently put a tiki bar in the basement and I would love to get him an autographed picture of Jimmy to go on the bar. The problem is I have no clue how to go about this. Can anyone help me out?? Thanks!

Re: Buffett autograph?
Wow...tough one! Sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time. I have three so far...one obtained in person, one through his Security staff, and one on an item purchased to benefit the Walden Woods project.growingupjimmy wrote:My dad has instilled the love of Buffett music in me my whole life. Sometimes individual Parrot Head Clubs have autographed items included in their charitable auctions. You could also check out eBay...but, be sure to check for certificate of authenticity and read the print closely to insure it is not a "copy" of an autograph.
You could also try writing a letter/request via USPS mail to Margaritaville in Key West.
Good luck and happy birthday to Dad!

Did you request it more than once or did the one request take that long?springparrot wrote:Send a letter to M-ville in KW asking for an autograph.
You will get a signed pic, IF and WHEN JB has time to do one.
Mine took about 2 years.

I've gotten several autographs in person, but I did get one through the mail. I called Margaritaville Records and spoke to a receptionist there about obtaining one and she was more than happy to help me out. I'm not sure that Mailboat would be willing to do the same, so I would call and ask first. I sent something I wanted signed and I made sure to send a stamped self addressed return envelope with it, and it came back within a couple of weeks. So it does work and I have no doubt that it's the real deal as it clearly matches the others signed in person.
Now I've got a terminal daydream,
That's something you'll never know
I keep it right here in my backpack, mon
And I take it wherever I go.

If you want to see it in any kind of a timely fashion, get a return envelope and what ever packing material you want to protect it and weigh it and put the postage on for them.

Sounds like mailing to Mville in KW will be the best option. Wish I could help out, I have acquired 3 over the years with luck. A photo signed, Joe Merchant signed and my prize possesion is the 1992 Esquire magazine cover signed. (which I need to frame...) I wish the best of luck to you, I would try KW or ebay, good luck.

For my birthday a few years back, an old friend of mine wrote off to Margaritaville Key West w/ the request, and got back an 8x10 autographed by JB, personalized to ME. I realize it easily could've been signed by someone someone purporting to be JB. But I hang it proudly--real or fake--what means the most to me is my friend went ot that trouble...bet your Dad would feel the same.

my copy of APL@50 took a little less time. He seems to do more autographs on mailboat items when on tour.springparrot wrote:Send a letter to M-ville in KW asking for an autograph.
