Wow, I go away for a day or so and miss all the action....Too bad I wasn't here a little early. I could have stolen the 100th post from all y'all!
The cups sound great. My vote is for Tarheel Blue, for what it's worth. Phil and I are staying at the Hampton up in Concord, also about 3 miles from the venue. We plan to be at Broadway Billy's on Saturday, probably in the afternoon....glad to hear it may be a daytime thing. Hubby and I are kinda early birds when it comes to hanging at a bar. We'll probably be at Verizon pretty close to noon on Sunday, as well. I think I'm gonna bring some munchies (some pimento cheese spread and pitas, pretzels, stuff like that) and burger fixings. Also, a cooler of Corona Light (with limes, of course) and probably some margaritas on the rocks.
Sorry to go on for so long but I had a lot of catching up to do. I'll pitch in bucks or help or anything that's needed. Just let me know. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone. I've never met anyone from BN before.....such a good bunch!
Haven't heard from Soraya.....I think she's been pretty busy with stuff at home. I'm sure she'll be checking in with us before too long.
Oh, and Al?? I'm sorry I missed you being BNer of the day yesterday....I did post a couple questions for ya there if you want to check it out. Hopefully the post won't be deleted.....I don't know if it's allowed to post stuff the day after or not. I really enjoyed reading all about ya!!

Thanks for remembering me being Bn'r of the day.
I posted my replies and if I don't answer a question remember, "It's a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling."
Just like any good fellow BN'r should do and in case Soraya is in need of it, let's all send her a little phin power

I'm here!! I will be updating the lists tonight (posting from work real quick)......a few more things have trickled in...but still not as many as I think we've hoped.
So, school registrations almost done (it's a challenge helping an 11 year old choose between 194 difference classes to take!!) and painting my kitchen (can you say topical? I am not sure I will want to walk in there the first morning after with a hangover...I'll be blinded!) ......It will be updated fully.
As for food...I still don't know what I am bringing.........exactly.....but there will be plenty!

Good to hear from you.
May the phins of many phlockers be folded for your families needs.
Things got (I got) a little (

) silly last night.
Barefoot wine is the debba. Too many sulfites.
I digress. Thanks for all your doing Soraya on the phone list.
The way I see it for those who respond and want to be a part of this phlocking, welcome aboard. For those who chose not to, sorry but your going to miss one h.e. double hockey sticks of a party.

Hello everyone! We're one day closer, woo hoo!!! I just live about 45 miles from Charlotte, so I'm not planning to stay over night (at this time anyway). I'm not sure what I'll bring, as far as food, but I know I'll probably be making some jello shooters!!! I have a Durango, so I can bring some bigger things like chairs, table, etc. I too have never met anyone from BN, altho I have lurked here for a long time, and I'm just really excited!!! I've never been to Charlotte's PH club meetings but I have been to several in Asheville. If several of you decide to go to the gathering at Boardwalk Billys, then I will probably try to come also!

Me and my friend Dennis are planning going to Boardwalk Billy's but won't be there until 7:00 or some time thereafter.
Won't stay too long though, Sunday's going to be a long day.
Gotta met with my brother and his family since they live in Concord.

We'll be there, I think we'll have a canopy and some chairs. Lots of beer, Modelo for me, Miller lite for my wife, and of course limes and all the fixins for margaritas. Not the frozen kind, the jetfuel kind.

We'd love to have four cups, Railroad lady! Let me know the $$$$ to help out so you don't get caught with all the expenses.
Also some silly decorations and a sweet parrot hat I got on ebay! Will go with my new grass skirt!
Lots of buffett tunes, mostly live boots, and old cds.
There will be four of us and we're coming in Sat night. So we may be up for Boardwalk Billy's for a little while, coco is right long day Sun. Also will be there at noon for the opening so hopefully we will be able to park by some of y'all and set up the flock nest!
We'll have a small grill and bubba bugers, brats, and dogs!
June 4th can't get here soon enough, I teach so it's for a few reasons!

Gotta love them Bubba Burgers.
The phlock continues to move forward!!
Remember, get your name to Soraya with a cell # so she can add it to the list.
Let's try to get those names and #'s in so she can update things in time for the show.

I, myself, prefer the tequila martini, as well!

What's your recipe?
I got this one from the box set I think, and its our favorite:
ice
2 lime wedges
2 oz gold
1/2 oz white
1/2 oz triple sec
1 1/4 oz rose lime juice
splash of blue cuacao for color
Shake in ice
rim with lime and salt, add ice
pour over ice
add lime wedge
enjoy!
Probably the basic recipe, but its good!

I'll make ya one at the show, I'm a trained professional....drinker that is
Ya gotta watch, they sneak up on ya. No more than two, or it'll be a long day!
One early, one right before you go in! Beer between.

I'm not one to drink too much.
Especially since this gathering is going to be a special one.
My rule is to stop when my intuition says stop.
I stop completely one hour before we head in.
Seen far too much abuse in the Marine Corp

Like Clint says, " A man's got to know his limitations"
I found mine in college several years ago. I pace. That's why no more than two. One around 2 and one around 6. A few beers between. (I was exaggerating for effect

). I need my liver to last!
I didn't pay $125 a ticket to be in the bathroom th whole time!
good point

Very good point.
Liver lasting = good thing
Pacing yourself = good thing
Fun in the parking lot = good thing
Enjoying the show from the seat I paid for = priceless

Have we made 100 yet? My brain is fried from a long day at work and can no longer think on its own. Where does it show the number of posts?

We are at 117!!!!
This one makes 118
I'm getting my fill before I go away for a little while.
Please , please, please keep my wife Maria in your thoughts and prayers over these next few weeks.
I apologize if I sound like a broken record but strength is in numbers.
On Friday we will meet with the bone marrow team, the lead physician and a host of others who will explain in detail how this whole thing will go.
She will go in on May 11 for 2-3 days for a drug called busulfane. She will come home on mothers day

for 2 days then go back in on May 17.
From the 17th to the 22nd she will receive a drug called campath. This will be the final push of chemo's. Transplant date is May 24th.
Thanks to everyone for your support and I expect to show up in Charlotte with a great report.
See you soooooooooooooon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to meet all you Parrot Heads! Should be a lot of fun, what time are you all heading to the venue? I'm missing Baccalaureate to see Buffett, which is so incredibly worth it. I'd probably even skip graduation to see him too! Only a month from today...
