It appears this person does not care for music in the least. No appreciation for music, artists, fans, performers... anything.

Perhaps it should have been written something like this:
I can't get over the fact that people listen to music that I don't like.
Fans don't know how to just sit quietly at a concert and enjoy the music.
Some musicians quit the bands that made them famous. What a shame.
I hate it when performers change the syllables of a word to make it fit in the song.
Why do musicians feel they need to tell us how they feel?
Why do musicians do things that I would never do.
I'm really p*** that I didn't get a job at Rolling Stone and now I have to write for AOL.

I think that about hits the nail on the head. I think there are a lot of things on that list that are questionable at best, and downright wrong and insane at worst. The author is a real numbnuts if they were being serious when they wrote that crap.

It was actually an article from "Blender" magazine, which was posted on AOL....different, but equally as lame.

Thank you for the clarification.

What is "Blender"?
One of those knew-it-before-you-did-and-now-it-is-worthless type of mags trying to make a name?

It's a fairly new rag brought to us by that respected publisher of Maxim and FHM magazines....

"Blender" is the kind of magazine that will rip Jimmy and "Sgt. Peppers" and then give several pages to flash-in-the-pan dreck like Fall Out Boy and Good Charlotte, erroneously suggesting that by this time next year, those bands won't be working at Taco Bell. I read a very deep and insightful article on the legendary and venerated Ashlee Simpson in the very same magazine a few months ago. Enough said...

It's a wannabee Rolling Stone magazine.....caters to the gen-x, emo, quasi-punk, pop whatever generation.
I did notice there is a review of the Drive by Truckers on their homepage, though....

Margaritaville was my first song ever that I Karaoked. But nowadays I stick to other songs... occasionally I'll try a Buffett song.

BTW on the same site, there's a 111 worst songs countdown.. I've been listening... I actually like some of the songs on the list :o

However, I think the general point of this article is that it was written by someone who has NO appreciation whatsoever for music or the music business (as mentioned previously)...

Not the first time someone's ragged on someone elses music, and won't be the last time. (Now I need to get that stupid Black Eye Peas song out of my head :( )

Yeah, can't respect any critic that complains about Britney Spears's retirement. Or leaves off either Simpson...

"sharpens axe"

hmm where to begin

For millions, Jimmy Buffett isn't just a guy who writes songs about putzing around the Caribbean . I thought he wrote songs about florida too. he's a shining symbol of the "good life." The writer is a negtive nelly That so few of them will get any closer to this life than hanging out in a dank bar called the Banana Boat, wearing a Hawaiian shirt, sipping a frozen daiquiri and waiting for their turn to karaoke 'Margaritaville' is monumentally depressing. Nah unless you think whats going on in the world today is a happy warm feeling. I take my chances finding the bar the Banana Boat, wear my loudest Hawaiian shirt and sing last man standing, and leave this world behind.
