If you have to pee, I recommend stopping at a gas station.

Hmmm you could stay at Banana Bay in Marathon part way down, eat at Cabot's on the water, someone in Marathon can tell you how to get there. Great sunset views, live local music. Make sure you go find the no name bar on Big Pine. Blue Heaven in key west is a must. We had an interesting discussion with someone at Captain Tony's which is a kind of divey bar off Duval Street, but there's an awful lot of just dumb stores in that part of key west. the margaritaville is much smaller than New orleans or las vegas.
there's another bar right near the bridge as you're leaving Islamorada, can't remember the name, but it has a pink cadillac boat, no kidding, and it's just kind of a shacky place with a rickety outdoor bar but good drinks, and good burgers. It's on the right as you are headed south. Stop at Bahia Honda too... it's a beach near the old 7 mile bridge. We liked all the loose chickens wandering around in Key West, it reminded us of Barbados. We liked the keys.
Only in the keys would you see a billboard... "Tiki Bars -- New or used"
Have a good trip.

If yer looking for the best sushi, at least it's the best I've had, or the freshest seafood, go to Hurricane Joe's at Hurricane Hole Marina, just on the left before you cross the bridge onto Key West (Cow Key Channel). You get to watch them pull the fish off the boat before they make the sushi, and if ya get bored, throw some of your bread into the water next to you and watch the tarpon swarm. They have their menu on the website link below...

Tell Fred the owner that TJ said Hi, he's a good friend of the family. If ya have an hour or two, ask him about his MGA.

If you care to take a little break from the bar stops along the way and are into fishing at all, the best Bass Pro Shop/Outdoor World in the world is on Islamorada. The sister ship of Ernest Hemingway's boat "Pilar" is sitting in the middle of the store and you can actually get on it and walk around and go in the cabin and everything. It's really cool....like stepping back in time. There's also a nice place around back where you can sit outside, waterfront (of course), and have a bite to eat.

We always stop at The Wreck, MM59. It's right before the Seven Mile Bridge. Good food and $5 pitchers of beer.

I hope you don't overlook the link I posted before. It's a travel guide
that includes most of the recommended places (I forgot about World
Wide Sportsman! http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog. ... 21#gallery )
and includes MMs (and directions where necessary) to them. Like it
says, print a copy and throw it in your glove compartment. You'll use
it, I promise!

Also around there (right after it) is the Islamorada Fish Company (or something along those lines) around MM 81.5, which I HIGHLY recommend.

Anyone know the Sundowner in key something?

Place you're talking about is Sundowners Key Largo....not far from the house at all. MM104 bayside, just past the Caribbean Club. Look for it on the right once you pass the entrance to Pennekamp.

Good outdoor deck and bar, but don't let the name fool you. They used to have a great view until about 6 months ago. The guys over at the Marriott next door, in their eargerness to be good neighbors, built a 2 story conference/meeting facility seriously degrading the sunset veiw they once had. Now, at sunset, it has a fantastic view of a cement wall.

Loreleis and Papa Joes are both great bars in Islamorada. Papa Joes sits above the water, kind of a Tiki bar and Loreleis is good food, sunsets, and drinks.
