Check these guys out...they are in BG's words...SICK to the MAX..they have a southern soulful blues sound with a touch of funk. I just recently found these guys because i saw they were touring with DMB

vocals alternate between a low funk suond and a high soulful bluesy sound ...His guitar, piano, and harmonica playing are tight. They are from southern florida and a lot of their songs are about nature...and preservation of the wetlands and glades
they have a solid souful blues sound (front porch soul)

They are fantastic vocally, musically, and lyrically.Their music gives me the chills! i have two of their albums, Blackwater, and Lachloosa

MOFRO...they are awesome....

i thnk their website is mofro.net....
:D

"Soon even remote places in Florida will be gone forever, replaced by golf courses and country clubs. Music takes me back to those places. It takes me back to the past where I can live, breathe and remain sane. That's probably my biggest influence. Either that or we just make up stuff that we think sounds cool." -JJ from MOFRO

I downloaded a few of their songs a while back when I heard that they would be on the Hoot soundtrack.
Not upbeat anough for me, but then I'm not into the blues at all.
& I thought they were from North Florida.

Their song Florida on the Hoot soundtrack was ok. Maybe I'll look into them a little more.

Do you know if that song was recorded for the soundtrack or is on another CD?

My biggest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell all my Buffett stuff for what I said I paid for it!
