I am pleased to announce that I am now the proud owner of two pavillion tickets!!!! YaY! So I paid a small "service fee" I don't care. I'm in; I have a solid reason to tailgate (like you need a reason ROFLMAO) and I'm soooooooooo sooooooooooo sooooooooooooooooo ready to hang out with my Parrothead phriends!!!

Now, to wait until Sept. 12th (who am I kidding???? we will be preparing the weekend before in West Branch with a bunch of Jeep pals then heading the caravan South to DTE---we should be in PRIME form by Tuesday!!!)
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

Now you have to ask yourself, should I party at the end of the backyard? Or just a measly tailgate?

Hotels:

Where are you staying?

I just booked a room at the Best Western in Lake Orion. Its only about 6 miles from the DTE.

I'd like to see it be ground zero for the show...

As I am new to all this....where do these events all take place?
There are 4 for us staying at the Best Westen that night. What time do the festivities usually get started?
This is the first summer that I wish was almost over because I am so excited about Sept 12.
Cheers

DTE concert

Post by emilia3243 »

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have never been to DTE and will experience it for the first time come Sept. 12th.

Is there a hotel close by that one could perhaps catch a taxi to & from the show? Us Yoopers can't drive that BIG city traffic...... Or any other form of public transportation?

Any help would be greatly apprecaited......

Thanks

well, I'm not a lot of help, but I did a search on Travelocity and several hotels came up to be near the Clarkston area (where DTE is). As far as taxi service, I'm sure there is something available, but what? Not sure. Maybe try and call the venue and chat with someone there about ideas. They should have some names or numbers of local services that will take care of you as well as hotels that are the most "concert friendly"

Come on, folks, I'm sure others are headed out in the direction---help a phriend out and say where you are staying and how you are getting to and from the venue. Might even be a rita or two in it for you :)

Has anyone heard where ground zero will be? This is my first Buffett concert and want to really experience the whole thing. I have only waited 20 years to do this.

The majority of hotels within driving distance are on opdyke near the Pontiac Silverdome. If you stay at one of those, they may have a shuttle, if not just drive across the street to the Big Buck Brewery, have a beer and get on their free shuttle to and from Pine Knob.

Your welcome, now do me a favor and find me some reasonable priced tickets.

I called the Big Buck Brewery. I talked to a female there, I thinK her name was Shannon, I asked her about the shuttle that goes to DTE.
Her response was that they only go to the Palace.

But...... she did tell me that if there was a big request they would consider having a shuttle that night to the DTE/PINE KNOB. :)

That was after I told her JIMMY BUFFETT was coming to town. She was going to talk to her manager to see what she could arrange.

SO EVERYBODY WHO IS INTERESTED IN THE SHUTTLE CALL BIG BUCK BREWERY!!!!!!

If I get any info I will post it.

I am booked for the night at the Best Western Palace Inn in Lake Orion. Phone # is 248-391-2755. I was told it was about 9 miles from the venue. Mention "event promo" and you "supposedly" get a better rate. I booked in May long before JB tickets even went on sale. Got an internet rate of $55 US (I am Canadian) friends booked 2 weeks ago and are paying $70 US.
What is this Brewery thing?
I perfer my marg in slush form...........just kiddin....glad to help a phriend!
