I guess my name as a rogue is earned this time because I can't stand Elloit. He has a great voice but the words don't seem to mean anything to him. It comes thru as hollow to me.

I was among the other shocked followers when Chris was voted off last night. I'm sorry to see him go and don't really care about further results. I can't wait for his album to release. I too think it will be great. Rock on Chris!!

This is a great recap and assessment of the final contestants:

I'm still in shock Chris is gone.

Ryan Seacrest reported on his radio show this morning that tonight on "Extra" Chris will be offered a lead singer job from a "large, well known band".

Three band's names have been thrown around based on the songs he has performed. Live, Creed, & Fuel.

Live is currently touring with Ed still as their lead singer so they're out.

Creed's remnants are now Alterbridge and are currently touring Europe so they're out as well.

Fuel reportedly offered Chris the job weeks ago when he performed Hemmorage so well. My money is on them making the offer official tonight.

My opinion is that he'll do much better as a frontman than trying to market himself as a solo artist. If you've heard any of his previous band's music it was pretty good for an independant release.

I'd rather him have his own band then to take over the lead singing duties of an existing band... :-?

while I am sad to see Chris out of the competition, I am glad that he won't be forced to do that pop idol crap on his album.....

I think Kathrine should win...not because she is great, but because TAylor and Elliot will do better on their own.....all 3 guys will have great success on their albums without being known as the AI winner....

As for Chris being the new frontman for Fuel.....I don't like it....he should do his own stuff with his own band... :D

So, what did everyone think about the outcome?

I'm glad Taylor won. I enjoy his performing style. NOT BORING. 8) (But, does the world need another Joe Cocker?)

To me Kat was always oversinging and most of her power notes sounded screechy. She is BEAUTIFUL and will probably have a decent acting career. She seems better suited to Broadway musicals than pop music. Her voice lacks a distinctive quaulity that would make you say "That's Kat!" if you heard her on the radio.

On the other hand, Taylor's voice is different and he won't be mistaken for anyobdy else on the radio.

A year from now nobody will even remember who they are, like most of the talent-free people who have been on this show.

I am SO happy Taylor won.

Every year I have picked the wrong person to win....that's why I almost didn't vote for Taylor....didn't want to jinx him!

I think Taylor is a nice enough guy, but I think there were others who had better voices. His goofiness got kinda old to me. :-?

I still think Chris should have won, or Katherine, but they'll still be successful in their singing careers. :)

LAM, I agree with you about Chris. Now that boy had talent. He was the only one I saw that didn't change for the crowd or the judges. You got what you saw with him.

He was my choice from the beginning.

Katherine had a beautiful voice, but I didn't like her style of singing. Out of the two finalists, I definately thought Taylor was better.

I saw 3 of the first 4 winners "sing" on the Today Show and I thought they were all awful. If they were the winners I'd hate to hear what the losers sound like.

I couldn't tell you who was who till this year. It's the first time I watched it.. I thought they had some good singers, but I sing like crap, so anyone sings better than me.

I do have to agree with you. I only think one of the past winners could actually sing worth a crap. That is last year's winner, Carrie Underwood.

I think this years winner will do good....he really does have a pretty good voice.

I have been a Taylor fan and a Chris fan since early on in the season. I think Taylor didn't have the best voice but his personality combined with his voice is what brought people to him.

I think Chris' performance on the finale was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I hope he gets a recording contract and we hear more of him.

I also kind of liked Elliot too. He had a great story and I really thought he had a great voice as well.

But Taylor.......woo hoo!!! SOUL PATROL! :) :)

I don't watch the show.It does not interest me and if I wanted to go out watcn and listen to karoke I would go to a bar.

Occasionally you can find talent there, albeit very seldom, but sometimes.

I think it says a lot about why our country is in the state is in, when more people vote on a tv show than they do in a Presidential election.

I have no use for those type shows nor do I understand the phenomena surrounding them....nor do I really want to or the need or desire to make a phone call over such shows.......that is my choice.

Anyone remember that guy that got a contract with Sony after his "rendition" of She Bangs ( I think was the name of it.) Nope not interested in it and DEFINITELY not watching, buying, or supporting it, let alone caring about it.
