I saw one with Jim and Linda on it quite a few times. I tried to get it into the reserved seats many times but couldn't. So then I started to hit it back into the lawn behind where I was seated on the lawn.
I was near the second light post from the left side of the venue, about twenty-thirty feet from the railing that separated the reserved from the lawn.
I thought I'd remember the e-mail address for Jim....
parrotjim@iwon.com?? Was that it? I guess maybe I did remember. But it took a bit more Captain and Coke tonight, from the same bottle I was drinking on Tuesday to think of it.
As for my experience, it went like this:
I arrived at the Shoreline right around noon, and joined the lone fifth-wheel trailer in the main parking lot across from the venue. That parking lot, the rear section anyway, was not full, even by the time I exited the venue after the show.
I entered the venue, bought a couple of shirts, and waited in line that was to the right side of the stage (facing the lawn) and then sat where I described above.
The older gentlemen in front of me unfolded the largest tarp I've ever seen at a concert, but it was eventually covered by people in low-slung chairs that they brought with them. There was a group of Asian ladies, and some others that it was quite obvious hadn’t been to a Buffett show before. The older gentleman discussed with someone close that he'd been to many more shows than I had....somewhere close to 40-50, I think.
Next to this group and closer to the center was a group of drunken, younger people that maybe weren't the most hospitable of phans, but they weren't too bad, nor too loud.
The people closest to me, behind and to my left (facing the stage) were an ok group. One of the older ladies grabbed me from behind when Jimmy played WDWGD and said, "We aren't going to screw, I'm just going to hug you." Looking back I may have been a bit scared, but as long as she was OK, then it was fine for me. --- I will apologize now to the woman with this group that was on her cell trying to describe to the person she was speaking with, as to where they were seated. I was mouthing off, and being the smart-a$$ that I am, and I'm sure that if she hadn't been on the phone I may have gotten a laugh, but since she was on the phone I was more of a distraction.
I was seated just enough behind the 'largest tarp' that I had most everyone walk past me through-out the night. The closest I got to touching anyone was one of a set of females that was having extreme problems staying up-right. She would have fallen into/onto my brother, and as he was a Buffett-virgin until now, I didn't figure having a drunken woman fall on him would help his experience. I'm pretty sure this couple of ladies walked by a few times, but not as many times as the tall, skinny, fuzzy-headed guy did. He walked by at least four times in less than one minute.
My biggest concern was remaining dry, as there were many beers walking by, and people aren't always the best at not spilling those beverages, especially after partaking in a few before walking. So thank you to everyone that walked past me and my bright yellow Crocs for not spilling on me or my brother.
I guess at this point, I should ask you, Jim and Linda, where you were. And how your evening was??
thanks for asking
