But Giambi is about as mobile as the statue of Prometheus by the Rockefeller Center skating rink so the extra reach from being a little taller probably wouldn't have helped.

The Yankees weren't going to win with him either, the pitching and defense is going to kill them.

Maybe. But WITH him they have a chance if the other teams in that division go into a slump.
Without him there's no way they'll make the playoffs.

Standing don't matter in May, I was pointing out how foolish your "standing 'nuff said" post was yesterday.

So who do the Yankees go after now? Bobby Abrau, Jay Payton?? There is no way they keep Bernie in the OF full time.
I never said they mattered, just reporting what was a fact at the time.

Anyway, it's Abreu not Abrau. It's ok to learn the names of other guys in the Majors that never played for the Yanks or Sox. I agree that they would prefer not to have Bernie in the OF full time at this point.

I am a bad typist no question. It appeared to be more of not knowing the player then a mis-typing. if I'm wrong, I apologize. You admitted you didn't know the words meanings and now you're accusing me of being it. lol. Truth is just about everyone who's posted on this thread is a little acidic and ornery ( with a few exceptions). :)

I got to hope and get through the Mets game tonight before I worry about tomorrow. Not cool that the game tomorrow is opposite 2 hour finale of "24".

Why would you heckle Myers? :-? The Sox didn't even make him an offer. His unique status (the ability to get Matsui out) cost the bullpen in flexibility the rest of the year. The guy couldn't even effectively pitch an entire inning when the rest of the pen used up in a doubleheader last September.

So the Yankmees pick him up to get out Big Papi...

How's that working out?!?!?!?   :pirate:

Hey job... have you seen the poster featuring your sig-line quote under a photo of Johnny Damon emerging from the dugout in pinstripes? I found it pretty funny. (Even tho I don't think he's worth anywhere near the salary he's getting with that wimpy arm of his.... )

Yeah if you don't offer Myers or anybody else a decent contract you can't hold it against him when they look for employment elsewhere. I understood when Flaherty went to spring training with the Sox this year because he thought he wanted to play more and the Yankees didn't offer him a contract.
