Jazz Fest/Jimmy and a question that is bothering me so…
Try this on for size. I have tickets for the Jazz Fest (not that they are hard to get) and live about 45 minutes away. My problem… I just bought a new house and need to move this weekend in addition to that my kids have their school fair this weekend, talk about a weekend that is shot. Jimmy is at Jazz Fest and I have to decide if I should stay and miss Jimmy or go and just live in the dog house for a while; one more factor in this equation the in-laws are coming to help move and have expressed their feelings about my going to a show. Man what I wouldn’t give for a twin brother or a clone this weekend.

So...how big and comfortable is the dog house??
Wow, tough deal...good luck. I'm not quite sure how Jimmy's gonna win this one but look hard for a creative solution before giving up (on either end).

Doghouse has AC but also two dogs w/ fleas, last time I saw Jimmy was costal confessions in NOLA.
What I am thinking is bring kids w/ me and also offer to bring my lovely wife so we can all share in the joy of Jimmy and worry about moving later, the in-laws still working on that one
as far as the school fair I have been telling them for years that they need to have it on a weekend that is not the same as Jazz Fest, but do they listen… nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the way NYCPORT thinks. Just tell the family that it's only fair that you go see Jimmy, and when they ask why it's only fair, just tell them that it just is and keep repeating that it's only fair. They'll think stress has finally gotten to you and you're about to crack. They'll have to let you go so you don't go nuts.NYCPORT wrote:f*** em. Go see Jimmy and deal with it when you get home.
There's a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning!

Most likely. My wife would have changed the date of the move when she found out Bubba was playing 45 minutes away.MrTwain wrote:My wife must be meaner than yoursNYCPORT wrote:f*** em. Go see Jimmy and deal with it when you get home.

Last year my daughter's girl scout camporee was the same night as the concert in Pittsburgh. Knowing that, for shits and giggles, I still went online to get tickets...and got center stage 5 rows back.
Of course I did not go to the concert...spending time with the fam was the priority.
And, guess what....just because I missed a concert, the world did not end.

So you've already spent the money on tickets? Sounds like you have to go to set a good example about not wasting money... (But this is coming from someone who's taking 3 unpaid days off work to fly from the opposite end of the country to go, and whose wedding vows will include "and 3 shows a year so long as Buffett may tour" so my priorities might not be in the same order as some other peoples'.)

Jimmy woulda hired movers with some of that $126 ticket money he has been raking in.MrTwain wrote:That's a pickle. When's the last time you've seen Jimmy? If you have tickets to another show this summer I'd stay home. Moving is a big deal and your wife is likely to feel abandoned amid a stressfull time.
But then again...

So the Jazz Fest show came and went and I stayed and went to my oldest daughters performance at the school fair, and we put the moving on hold until Monday. About ½ hour before the Buffett show I get a call from a work connection telling me he has arranged a meet and greet with Jimmy at the fest and wanted to know where I was so he could come and get me and take me back stage. I told him I didn’t make it to New Orleans for the show but thanks for thinking of me. Then he asks if I can make it New Orleans for the Little Feat show at Margaritaville if I can he will put my name on the list plus one guest I asked him to put me down. So I hoped in the car and made the show, I shook Jimmy’s hand before he went on stage and I got some great pictures. I just got home and need to get to bed, more school fair in the morning but will post some pictures tomorrow.
As for karma mine must be ok.
